LittleBigPlanet 3 on the way?

British studio Sumo Digital has supposedly been at work on third entry in series for "well over a year."

A third LittleBigPlanet game is in the works, according to a new report atVG247. The site has been informed that British studio Sumo Digital (Dead Space Ignition, Nike+ Kinect Training) has been at work on the third entry in the series for "well over a year."

Platforms for LittleBigPlanet 3 are unknown and a Sony representative was not immediately available to comment.

Sumo Digital has worked on the LittleBigPlanet franchise before. The studio created LittleBigPlanet 2's cross-controller patch, which allows gamers to use a PlayStation Vita to control the main game on PlayStation 3.

If LittleBigPlanet 3 is indeed real, it would be the sixth entry in the series. The franchise was born in 2008 on PS3, with a PSP entry landing in 2009. LittleBigPlanet 2 came to PS3 in 2011, while LittleBigPlanet Vita and LittleBigPlanet Karting both launched last year.

I cant see anything new which such a game can deliver.

I really enjoyed LBP(1) but 2 ended up being significantly under my expectations

I hope LBP3 is a big improvement!

I hope it will release on the PS4 with many new features, if we look at the sales it should be pretty clear most people don't seem to be hyped for the series anymore...

Add full 3d mechanics to the gameplay. That would be huge.
