Capcom shipped 1 million copies of DmC Devil May Cry in January, the company announced as part of their nine-month earnings report today. Additionally, the company has revised its sales forecast for DmC Devil May Cry as well. Initially, Capcom expected to ship 2 million copies of the game by March 31st, 2013. Now, that figure has been lowered to 1.2 million. For comparison, Capcom shipped over 2 million copies of Devil May Cry 4 when the game launched in 2008. Devil May Cry 4 had/has the highest initial shipment of any Devil May Crytitle in the series.

That is a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig decrease, some similar bad news for RE6 as well.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I think this is in line with industry trends as well as decreasing popularity in single player/hack and slash games.
If anything, this game would have done even worse if it was another DMC4 type of game, without the all the Dante contraversy.

At this rate, in a couple of years we are looking at Resident Evil VS DMC Xbox Live arcade top-down shooter lol.

Lesson is to not change Dantes look.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

All the bickering from both sides on this contentious reboot pales in comparison to what companies truly care about, sales.

That's too bad. I decided to delay my purchase due to the technical issues. The game looks like a quality title though (other than those issues). I'd really like to see MGR's sales, especially since it comes out just a month after.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

I thought it did well enough. Is  544k first week not good anymore?

Signature goes here!

Expected. Sales forecasts where extremely high as it is, and fanboy backslahs was waaaay bigger than intended. Also, it was not the rebirth of the 3D hack&slash, as Capcom wants us to believe. Reviews where great but not stellar.

PS: it seems that we are overtracking ORC ~2:1

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

Will be very hard to be profitable with those numbers. And those are ship numbers, not sell-through.

Fans voted with their wallets.

How can Ninja Theory still be in business all their games have bombed?
