It fluctuates, but I wrote $500-$600. I don't want to admit it, but I probably spend about that much on games annually.
I mean a new system costs between $150-$400, and I don't buy one every year, but I eventually do get all the consoles.
For 7th Gen, I bought
DS - 2005 ($199)
360 - 2007 ($399)
PS3 - 2009 ($299)
Wii - 2011 ($215)
PSP - 2012 ($90)
PS2 - 2012 ($40) (Replacement)
So about $1,245 in 7 years, that's just under $180 a year for consoles.
Plus I usually get about 3-4 new games a year. Lets just say it was 2 $60 games, 1 $50 game, and a $40 a year. So add $150 for new games annually.
Now I'm at $330 a year.
However I also get about 5-10 used games a year for about $20-$40. So let's just say I get 8 $25 games a year, that's another $200.
So I'm at $530 a year.
Math checks out.
However in the future, I plan to be a bit smarter with my game purchases. I have quite a library of SNES-Wii/360/PS3 games, so I probably won't be getting as many retro/used games in the future. I'm also kinda backlogged on old games, so I don't plan on buying as many new games/consoles in the future. I should be able to bring down my gaming to around $400 a year, and that's perfect because I make just a bit more then that in a week.
