I think the days of one console dominating are over, however I also note some weaknesses in your key arguments.
Sony has momentum at the moment its true, but this late in the generation that doesnt count for much - also the PS2 had an unprecedented amount of sales, developer support and price cuts giving Sony huge momentum going in to this generation.
Finally Microsoft have always said their initial business plan to enter into the console market took a three console approach, original xbox was to gain entry, second xbox was meant to cut sonys lead and finally the third xbox was what they were going to throw most money behind to try and gain a lead (obviously the 360 is currently leading the sales race over the ps3 but I still think the ps3 will eventually over take it, but by that point the next gen will already be a few months old) - if this model still holds true and microsoft plan to throw more money at the nextbox then the 360 I think you are going to see a lot more studios like Epic developing a game exclusively for the system.
