Forums - Nintendo Discussion - How can Nintendo gamers even talk about other system failing?

Wii U will keep being the internet's joke until a new system does poorly. Nintendo fans want the PS4 or Xbox 17+ to fail because it means the end of Wii U doom threads.

For proof look at 3DS. Doom up until the Vita started stealing the doom. Now people have started to ignore the Vita as they move on an doom the Wii U.

Like I mentioned a lot of times before..."gamers" who want revenge are not gamers.

Yeah, I think this is probably the most accurate.  However, I'd rather the doom threads to not happen at all, regardless.

It's kind of funny, but for quite awhile we were getting flooded with Vita mockery threads. Constantly, day after day. They kind of dried up, though, in a way that oddly aligns with the struggles of the Wii U. I can't say that I haven't found that somewhat amusing.

Nothing is funny about a console like the Wii U selling zero (0) units per week! Needs a price cut asap.

You have to wait till the Wii U's second sixth Christmas! How many times must I say this?

Nuh uh, you gotta wait til the Wii U 2 comes out, only then can the Wii U be fully judged!

(Actually... Wii U's 6th Christmas will probably be alongisde the Wii U's successor... damn you!)

It has nothing to do with revenge, just the internet's capacity of only one doomed system at a time.

So we're not allowed to speak of other consoles performing poorly just because Wii U is? Why is that exactly?

You know, there ARE such things as Nintendo fans who DON'T currently own or even support Wii U (like myself). Granted I'm sure I'll get one eventually, but at the moment Nintendo has given me little reason outside of NSMB to get one.

When the Wii U is in the state it is in. The 3DS is just finally fully recovering from a disasterous blanch, and the Wii went out with a whimper.

Does it make them feel better?

I guess we can also poll the Sony fans, considering the abymal PS3 launch and their late recovery. ;)

Ba-zing! xD

Seriously though you wanna know why Nintendo gamers can talk about other systems failing? Because we're more well-versed on the subject than anyone else*!

Virtual Boy: 777k

GameCube: 22m

N64: 33m

So please, let us experts decide what is failure and what is not

I can't really comment on the issue of other systems failing... I don't talk about that, because a system can't fail before anything is known about it. Indeed, I tend to try to predict the best course of action for each of the three.

I do say that Vita is failing at the moment, but that's only because it has something to compare to it - namely, the 3DS. And failing doesn't mean failed.

However, the Wii U's state isn't quite as dire as some people, such as you, suggest. Need I point out that with the exception of the Wii, all of Nintendo's recent systems have started out weakly, and then started selling much better once certain software released for it? It's true of both the DS and 3DS. What made the Wii stand out so strongly was that it had the necessary software at launch - Wii Sports, primarily. And while Nintendo Land may be a great game, it's really more of a retro-focused game than an expanded audience game, which is why it's selling well, but not driving software as much as Wii Sports did.

Wii u will fail. Its not next gen its got a flashy game pad then no horse power 2 back it up and a large lack of 3rd party support.
