If anything, Sega fans should dislike Sony for the exact same reasons Sony fans dislike Microsoft (Money-hating exclusives, hype marketing...)

so Sony money hatted its 3rd party exclusives so that they wouldnt appear on the Saturn?

you got any links?

What do you think sonys launch lineup for PS1 was? Sony had no game studios back then...they didn't have the sales to make case for exclusives. They were just rounding up 3rd party companies and financially supporting them to get their games on to playstation. Some games like Battle Arena Toshinden had to sign exclusive deals, hence why the Saturn version had to be different and was 6 months late to the party. Same thing with Wipeout and Destruction derby.

Here is a clip which talks about sony's mentality for getting exclusive games using tactics which today Sony fans accuse Microsoft of moneyhating. (6-6:20 minute mark)

It all fair and frankly I don't fault Sony for doing this at all. It comes down to money, and when Sony entered the game industry they were willing to spend more than Sega or Nintendo ever imagined. Good for them. Their E3 conference was flashier, their advertising budgets were massive. I remember reading in Gamepro that Sony's marketing budget for 1996 holiday season was 100 million while Segas was 15.

However I do think that toe to toe, Sega's game develpment talent runs circles around Sony's own in house stuff up until the end of dreamcast. But Sony had the 3rd parties in the bag since day on on PS1 and that's why they were successful...

it didn't say anything about Sony moneyhatting for games to come earlier than on Saturn

ive seen that video numerous times and i watched it again just to see what you were talking about

is this video the "source" of where you think Sony moneyhatted all those games and made sure that they released 1st on PS instead of Saturn?

At this point Im not sure if you are aware of what moneyhatting is or why you are asking for links which say "Sony moneyhatted games so they don't get to the saturn". All you have to do is use common sense.

In 1994-1995 sony needs games but have no studios to make them - sony pays 3rd party studios to make them some games. You know, like microsoft when they are moneyhatting. They buy some games/studios outright but some studios are allowed to make their games on other platforms but only after a certain time period. You know, like buying exclusivity, like Microsoft. Toshinden, Wipeout and Destruction Derby were all released on the Saturn but 6 months to a year later. These were the big heavy hitters on PS1 for the 1995 holiday season.

Is this any different than what Microsoft did with Tales of Vesperia or any times exclusive?

what's your complete definition of moneyhatting?

so was Toshinden, Wipeout and Destruction Derby the only games that came out later on Saturn?

Sony said in that video that the Saturn just simply didn't have many games when it came out and it sounds like everybody was flocking to the PlayStation ove the Saturn from the start judging by what they were saying about the retailers  not having enough PS consoles to last through the holiday season. Like would somebody know if all those games were planned to even release on the Saturn?

like look at stuff like Star Ocean 4. We knew that game was supposed to be coming to the PS3 but later it was said that they couldn't release it on ps3 for certain reasons then it finally came out a year later.

but how many games came out later on Saturn though because it sounds like the Saturn was pretty much in dead water from the start

doesn't seem like Sega fans would get mad because of Destruction Derby, Toshinden and Wipeout

Money hatting - console platform holders looking for development from 3rd party developer companies and buying game rights/timed exclusivity by injecting cash and dev support...rather than build a group of 1st and second party studios.

Has nothing to do with fans being mad for mot getting games but the fact a company is buying game exclusivity from 3rd party devs. Takara would have published battle arena toshinden for both platforms otherwise in 1995.

Besides Sega Saturn had lots of great games in 1994,1995 and most of 1996 thanks to first party support and the sales of the console werent that far behind playstation. it was being outsold by playstation 2-1 in europe and north america but in Japan it actually outsold the ps1 at first. There was no reason for most 3rd party devs to ignore it pretty much up intil 1997. it was only after final fantasy 7 got shown which pushed ps1 to outsell the satirn to the point where 3rd party devs would ignore it and games like resident evil 2, tomb raider 2 were cancelled. Even final fantasy 7 decision could be considered money hatting since sony bought 15% of Square and paid for their games marketing campaign.

All im saying is that in 1994 sony had no business in videogames. they did not make video games back then but only hardware. however they bought their way around for a few years by money hatting games and studios and selling hardware at a loss to bleed the competition dry and yeah, rest is history.

There's Namco as well, Sony helped them with their arcade boards (Sega was Namco's rival in the arcades too) and then almost all Namco's games become Sony exclusives in the PS1 days. Ridge Racer, Tekken, Soul Blade, Ace Combat, Tales of... etc.

It's a wikipedia page.  Someone has to put it up for themselves, usually a collaboration.  You also need to have sources to prove they exist.  So it really isn't that easy unless you really know them all.  Just saying

It does state that the list is complete, thats fair enough, i can appreciate that, but its immensely incomplete having looked over it more thoroughly.

I'd rather see Microsoft fail than Sony.  I like more Sony IPs than Microsoft.  The only Microsoft IP that I like is Crismon Skies which they have ignored.  Sony IPs that I like are Twisted Meta and Gran Turismo.  Microsoft doesn't give a damn about the video game industry.  They just want to put a media hub in every house.

Why Sony fans think that Sony have anything to do with every game that appear on their systems?

Armored Core is a third party game from From Software and the two last entries have been on the X360 too.

Not a Sony fan.  Mistake since I've only played the first two Armored Core and I never really cared to look up developer/publisher for the series.  Total still favors Sony IPs for me.

idk there is not enough proof to really go by this

I see what you are saying but SHOW ME THE GAMES that were moneyhatted. how do you know that all the games on PS were going to be on the Saturn? I mean this is the 1st gen that we've seen this many multiplat games. we never really seen them desperate for sales like in this gen

just list me the high profile games on ps1 that were moneyhatted and include the link/source to the info of it being moneyhatted. That is all i'm pretty much saying. I'm not saying that it didn't happen. I just want to see your source behind it and hopefully its not that video you linked earlier

that part about FF7 is not good enough C'mon now

and also what about all the 3rd party games that were on Ninty and not on Sega before PS was around? were they moneyhatted by Ninty aswell? Sega fans should dislike Ninty for the same reason then.

is this pure speculation?

but show me a list of the high end games that were going to be on saturn but couldn't because Sony moneyhatted them and show the source to each. Like i said before, i'm not saying that its impossible but i just want to see if this is fact or just speculation on your part

Of the big three Nintendo does have the most fake fans out there and your username cannot deceive me. I'll keep an eye on you
