Did anyone else think Marlon Brando when reading this?
Maybe another tale from Alan Wake mythos?
"Let justice be done though the heavens fall." - Jim Garrison
"Ask not your horse, if ye should ride into battle" - myself

Well they could release random games like Sony that don't sell so they have to shut down studios and put people out of work. Go check out what Sony has left for first party studios and the games they release. You will be really surprised at what you find.

I still find more games worth playing on the Playstation 3 than the X360. And, i dont even have a PS3.
It's obviously going to be a Windows Phone Store game, guys.

Again it is a prefrence. However if you look at sales you will see what people prefer. I am not going to turn this into a Xbox vs. PS thread, but for the 1,000th time it does not make any sense from a business standpoint to release random first party titles just so you can say we offer more content then the other guy. Sony is putting studios in a position to fail do to demand and lack of marketing. Here is the list for you of Sony's first party studios and the games/projects that mean anything. As of April 2012......
Evolution - MotorStorm
Guerilla Games - KillZone
Media Molecule - LittleBigPlanet
Naughty Dog - Uncharted and The Last of Us
Polyphony Digital - Gran Turismo
SCE Bend Studio - Uncharted Golden Abyss, Resistance: Retribution, and Syphon Filter (Handheld Studio Now)
SCE Cambridge Studio - LittleBigPlanet PSP and KillZone Vita (Handheld Studio)
SCE Japan Studio - The Last Guardian
SCE London Studio - PlayStation Home
SCE San Diego Studio - MLB The Show
SCE Santa Monica Studio - God of War
SCE Studio Liverpool - WipeOut
Sucker Punch Productions - Sly Cooper and Infamous
So there is this myth about Sony having all so many franchises and studios and all these new games all the time. Look at that list and remove the London studio and the two handeld makers. That leaves 10 studios. Here are the games.
MtoroStorm
KillZone
LittleBigPlanet
Uncharted
The Last of Us
Gran Turismo
The Last Gaurdian
MLB The Show
God of War
WipeOut
Sly Cooper
Infamous
That leaves you with 12 games and 3 of those franchises the majority doesn;t gives a rats ass about anymore. So it is the same old franchises coming from Sony with 1 new IP. All of Son'ys "NEW" stuff comes from 3rd party people like Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls, and Ni NO Kuni. Other than that Sony is no different than Microsoft and it all comes down to prefrence.

If your point here is the microsoft ones sell more even though less in number, it is true. But, how long can you handle the same game repackaged? At last theres variety on the Sony system.
But you selectively left out more niche and amazing titles like journey and unfinished swan.
Also, no one gives a rats arse about God of War? I think not. :)

"Go check out" No you tell me how many studios Sony has left? You act like they'll be running out of them rather sooner than later. The few studios they shut down weren't producing good games except for Liverpool, and I reckon the guys over there found jobs with other Sony studios, Evolution for example. You shouldn't be so defensive of Microsoft, what Nem said was true, you should welcome healthy criticism. Microsofts output of games is becoming rather monotonous.
If I lower my expectations they might surprise me.

Microsoft has trademarked something new called “Marlow Briggs”.
It’s filed under ‘game software’, so it could indicate that it is a next gen IP from them. Their upcoming console is rumoured to be unveiled this year, and it doesn’t look like they are going to announce new games, specially new IPs for the Xbox 360.
We can’t really say if it’s the name of a new game or something else, but the former seems more likely right now. Here’s what the trademark contains, spotted by an eagle eyed GAF member.

Strange then how you somehow know those games are worth playing.
Anyway can't wait for next gen, this is when you really see some new ideas and new IP's.
