This is pretty neat. Artist Chrissie Zullo shows her process drawing Princess Zelda from start to finish:

I actually met Chrissie a few times at New York Comic Con over the years. She does a lot of cool video game art.

I've often said Nintendo should treat BOTW's sequel as the second coming much like R* did with Vice City and SA after GTA3 and the performance of Hyrule Warriors AOC highlights why the game has moved 3m units in like 3 days and that's a Warriors game mind you.

Worth looking back at with AOC now out, I wonder if we'll have the early year ND in 2021.

Age of Calamity ships three million units worldwide. That number includes global shipments and download sales.

I am going to take a little break from VGChartz, but please keep the Zelda chatter going!

Thank you for all your contributions the last few months!

Just got Urbosa in Age of Calamity, holy moly she's badass, makes the other characters look feeble with her lightning attacks.
For those who are further into the game, do you need to use all the characters leveled up for times when you're forced to use them, or can I just main Link/Urbosa/Revali through the whole game?

I bought retail copies of Cadence of Hyrule and Age of Calamity last sunday, so I can rest easy again; my collection is complete once more. Haven’t played either game yet though. Will begin with Hyrule Warriors soon I hope.

Link is locked into your group in almost all story missions, so the main story won't be an issue. There aren't many challenges which force the use of specific characters; in the beginning you get an easy training mission for everyone, afterwards it isn't until the end of the game that specific characters have to be used.

The sensible thing to do is use the additional character slots in the few missions that have them to gain EXP for characters you don't like, because every mission has a completion bonus. This EXP bonus also scales, so characters that are way behind in EXP can get 3+ levels from that bonus alone. Dispatched characters will get most of the weapon drops in any given mission, so you'll also get some much needed weapons this way. By the time you have to play as someone, you should have at least a somewhat decent level and forged weapon despite not actually playing them much at all.

Thanks, that helps. I'm not a big fan of Impa or Daruk and didn't want to feel obligated to play them just to keep them leveled up.

If possible I don't really wanna do a lot of the side missions as I just wanna get through the main story, but I am playing on Easy so hopefully I don't hit a bottleneck later down the road.

The main story has jumps in recommended level, but you can still play it even if you are 10 levels below; and when you are that much below the recommended level, you'll get a lot of EXP from killing the most basic enemies. Then there's the obligatory bonus EXP for clearing a mission, so I'd say that getting through the story without doing any side missions should definitely be doable on easy difficulty.

Thanks, that's good to know, while I enjoy the game in general I don't have a lot of patience for stopping between story sections to kill 500 enemies in 4 minutes or whatever. I mostly just wanna keep playing. Up to mission 8 now and haven't hit any roadblocks or difficulty spikes yet.

Revali and Urbosa are definitely the most fun to play as so far.
