Shovelware maker shoveled?

Around the Network

Probably a good move - I've no idea if this guy took Rare in the Kinect direction, had a lot to do with it and what his plans are - but you can't say he didn't do a good job with it. Kinect was a big success as the sports games were some of the top ones. Given that a lot of Sony's more 'casual' output is done through SCEE, a lot of the UK studio's, he's probably a great fit for getting stuff like Wonderbook to 'hit' the market like Kinect did instead of only sort of doing okay.

Maybe he moved to make good games though, who knows. This is a bit of a non story - I'm sure UK game makers swap studios all the time just this one is a story cause it's Rare, Microsoft and Sony.

And now he will be a genius rather than a man that has helped ruin Rare and forced Kinect shovelware on us all.

You got it all wrong, that was all Microsofts doing.
This dude is leaving for Sony. That says something.

That'd be so awkward if he left Microsoft and Kinect to join Sony in order to work on Move.

Well he was envolved on Kameo aka one of the best 360 games.
Especially the best one of the early 360 days. Its sad it never got a 2nd entry or a game that plays like it.

Maybe he wanted to make something like that again and he wasn't allowed to.
He probably got green light from Sony for a project that isn't some Kinect Shovelware.
Same happened to Molyneux - He wanted probably to make GODUS for Microsoft but they said "Innovation?Fable milking please or get the hell out of here!"
Cliffy B didn't want to make Gears Trilogies for the rest of his life either - Left to do something different but we still don't know what.
And no one here can deny that Sony is the best option if you want support for your new IPs.They give their studios and developers a lot of freedom.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

It's an observation. An accurate one. Not negative dribbling in any way. Whereas what you said was condescending garbage. Tired of hearing how awful rare now is and how Kinect is bad for gamers and nothing but shoveleare, now he will no some kind of gaming god "coming home". It's hypocritical BS.

Why does it bother you so much that people on the Internet are being hypocrites?

The man decided to move forward in his career. Be happy for him!

To a company that hasn't made a $1 profit in years, bleeding money every quarter and recently had to sell their major buildings for money just to rent them back out? That's what you call moving forward in his career lol?  I guess I have a distorted view of relative directions, anyway congratulations guy no one cared about until now

Every move is a move forward if you are forced to make kinect games.

Even grave digger.
