Forums - Gaming Discussion - Guinness World Records counts down top 50 gaming villains (Possible spoilers)

It's really cool seeing Bowser at the first place. :)

Around the Network

fair enough that King koopa is #1

but Glados at #2 though??? Sephiroth should be higher than Glados!!!! TF!!!

I also feel like the list got cheated by adding batman up there. Like come on, that is really a movie villain. let the game villains flourish without the movie villains taking their spots

:P

Edit: yo these motherfuckers have "Gary Oak" from Pokemon red/Blue higher than Sephiroth?

Hades is Number 50, wtf, that is one of the most charismatic villains ever!

 -Hades

-Pit

 -Hades

 -Hades

-Pit

-Haaaaaades!

-Piiiiiiit

-It's on!

Don't worry, these guys have no clue at all what they're talking about. I don't think Gary Oak has ever even been in a video game. Maybe Puzzle League or something but he definitely wasn't in Red & Blue.

And if he had been, he wouldn't be the "villain." Antagonist, maybe, but not the villain. Ditto with the police in GTA... really? What the hell?

Herobrine made the list??? Herobrine is not even real!!

Yay!!!

I would consider putting Gary Oak as #1. I hate that guy.

Villain is a general term. Antagonist is more or less the same thing. You're looking for "main antagonist" or "main villain."

In simple terms, the protagonist is the main character, while the antagonist is the character who opposes the main character. Not all stories have a true villain, but I suggest a simple definition of a villain in a work of fiction is a character whose actions are condemned by the narrative.

It is very much possible for the protagonist to be a villain, and the antagonist to be the "hero." See also the police in GTA -- there is nothing villainous about them whatsoever, whereas the protagonist is sometimes the true villain (but sometimes just a sort of antihero).

They're thinking about it in very simple terms. The main character in GTA is the "good guy" since he's the guy you play and the police are the "bad guys" since they're the guys you fight, even though it isn't that simple.

As I mentioned, they got more than just their literary definitions wrong. Tabuu is not from Super Mario Bros, and Gary Oak is not a video game character. Forgive me if I don't give them the benefit of the doubt.

Not going to lie, I didn't expect to see Hades (Kid Icarus) on there... or any Kid Icarus stuff.
I think Xehanort is on there because of KH3D.

Xehanort is mainly a villain in BBS. In 3D he just appears at the end to give his little speech. He also possesses his younger version for the fight against Riku but ehhh. Ansem SoD and Xemnas are both Xehanort though so they might be weighing him based on them too even if they're not specifically listing them.

Yeah.

(spoilerstuffs)

I think that the reason why KH3D made Xehanort on the list was because the fact that all the forms of Xehanort appeared in the game and a lot of things were uncovered about his plans.

However this is really the first time I seen this list, to be honest, so I could be wrong.
