Will likely purchase both consoles at launch. Maximim budget is 500 euros.
I think PS4 will be a real hardcore console while the 720 more of a multimedia machine, with Kinect 2.0 and Windows 8.

I'll probably go with PS again next gen, I'm pretty satisfied with PS3 now and with Vita too. I will try my best to resist and wait at least a year to buy one and skip probably problematic first batches of consoles.
Of course, as we are talking about unreleased and completely unknown machines, all of the above can change with the launch of booth consoles. If PS4 turns out in a complete disaster, then probably I would look for a Wii U. I'm not talking about a sales disaster, it's more like a Atari 5200 disaster (a complete mistake in project with severe design errors).
Getting the Xbox 720 at launch and maybe a PS4 sometime down the line probably after a price drop or two. And a Wii U after a price drop as well and if it has any games I deem worthy.
I was a PC Gamer, than went to the Wii, then I got an HD TV and went with the Xbox. I'm really happy with the Xbox and I think it is superior in so many ways to the Wii.
I do like motion gaming and think Kinect picks up where the Wii left off. Granted there are some things - like the Wii Sports Resort sword fighting game that Wii does better, but overall I like the Kinect better. I haven't been blown away by the WiiU. I will be curious to see what Kinect 2.0 has to offer. If it is really 10x more accurate, that will really be something.
I would consider the PS4 if it's vastly superior in some way or offers something so amazing I have to have it. But I do have a problem - most all the PlayStation gamers I know are so obnoxious it is a *huge* turn off. Many seem to have a huge chip on their shoulder and the PlayStation is like a blind religion to them. Like they don't care what Sony does, they will follow it no matter what. I really can't stand those kinds of people (whatever their religion is), IMO as those kinds of followers in religion allowed so many kids to be molested/women mistreated/people murdered/etc. and all sorts of horrors.
I just want to play and have fun. I recently met a gamer, who went off on how old the Xbox 360 was, and how the PS3 was so much newer and more powerful – even though it doesn’t sell as well (I’m in North America). I just let them go on, and on, and on. It’s rather typical IME.
So I am most looking forward to the next Xbox. I will have to see what is at launch and may wait a bit. I really want to see what the next consoles offer before I made a final decision, but per your question. Yes, leaning strongly toward Microsoft and Xbox.

Ignore Uncharted 1, 2 and 3, God of War 3 and Gran Turismo 5. Keep going, you're on a roll. |
Killzone 2&3, Resistance 1, LBP 1&2, Infamous 1&2. All are multi-million sellers and have sold a lot through digital sales or were cut off from a great deal of sales through PS+ (LBP2 and Infamous 2). Also sales don't always indicate quality as Resistance 3 was the best shooter this gen for my money.

There are stupid fanboys of all consoles. I fervently support PS3 because it gets its sales the right way. It comes out with premium exclusives at a high rate and offers free online with awesome sales and services. Xbox on the other hand took advantage of a year's head start and the recommendations from friends that created along with PS3's lack of system sellers and online functionality at the start of the gen. Not to mention being SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive at the start (and still more to this day). Because of all these advantages and the general satisfaction of PS customers compared to Xbox ones I have to believe PS will do a lot better next gen.

Your expereince with Playstation gamers is the same I have with 360 gamers. I'm in NA (US) too.
Most 360 fans I've met go on about how much better the 360 is, but don't even know the difference between multiplat and exclusive games lol.
Wii U will be my main and i might get the ps4 as a 2nd console
