that aside... it's because Nigger is associated with hundreds of years of slavery and being someones property.

While cracker is a made up word with no social implications that shouldn't bother white people in the least.

It's not ok. It's wrong either way.

I like in the Star Trek, the original series, when President Lincoln calls Lieutenant Uhura a 'negress.'  He quickly realizes the error of his ways and apologizes.

Lieutenant Uhura turns to him and says, "...in our century, we've learned not to fear words."

That being said, it's still a provocative, rude and obnoxious thing to say to someone.  And if you want have a civil and respectful conversation with someone, probably not best to use it.  If someone is calling you a nasty word, they are proably not wanting a civil or respectful converstation, and it's just not worth it. Move on.



 

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Upper Egypt was still in present day Egypt, in fact not even very close to the frontier with Sudan. Maybe you are confounding with the more african Nubia and the fact both royal houses often intermarried on late periods, as you can notice on Tutankhamun, who looks mixed-race in reconstitutions as opposed to the earlier Ramses II who had fair skin and natural red hair.

no, it comes from the word niger/-gra/-grum, which is latin and simply means "black" (not exclusive to people)
