Sony owns Naughty Dog, until I hear news that Sony let go of ownership I doubt we they will ever leave. 360 owners love to hear when PS3 loses exclusivity to its top companies,  but little do they know of the loyalty many second parties and first party have to Sony. Its a rare kind of loyalty that money cannot actually buy. Its a wonder, Sony never cares when Microsoft loses a company. Notice that?

Man that is interesting!  But unfortunately it looks like a deal is being made with EA.  You can read more about it in the link though.  They do touch up on Uncharted 4 so maybe you should read it if you like Uncharted  at least.

Naughty Dog isn't leaving Sony. Naughty Dog has practically been begging Sony since I was a child to own them. Naughty Dog, Insomniac and Sony were the mirror image of how a second party should work with a console manufacturer. I've read up on their relationships for a while and trust me Sony will always be number one to Insomniac despite their need to expand their audience. If you've looked up Sony and Microsofts developmental attitudes developers on either side of the track will tell you two totally different stories. They have always had Sonys support and have used their help more than even the Japanese studios.

Difference between Bungie and Naughty Dog is Bungie had been waiting for a while to leave Microsoft and had differences in opinion. Naughty Dog has noted that Sony gives them great amounts of freedom to make the games they want to make. They've been given that freedom before they were owned by Sony and thus they found they were a perfect marriage. The only companies that are a perfect marriage with Microsoft are created by Microsoft, for example 343 and Turn 10.

Yes, but were those the main members who controlled the direction of the game essentially? Sometimes they'll make a offer to a higher level employee to keep him around a while longer. Smaller members come and go from one dev to te next. Jobs are never truly secure in the gaming indsutry. Devs can endure alot for the sake of job security. Take Lionhead for instance, while the normal devs in their respective strengths stay behind with Lionhead, the lead developers jumped ship to create their own company, not just Molyneaux.

My point is they didn't have a problem with microsoft.  The main difference between bungie and Miscrosoft was that MSFT wanted them to continue Halo and the head of Bungie wanted to go on to something else.  As you can see many members from bungie was happy to continue doing halo and 343i is basically an all star team, taking the best talents in other words. You don't really hear bad things about MSFT from developers at all (Besides Rare which sounds like them trying to blame others for their mistakes in my opinon). .  In fact MSFT is listed as one of the best companies to work for in the world.

P.S. yes 343i has main members from Bungie including Frank O Connor

Yeah, but that doesn't break from my point. That studio is dedicated to Halo, Naughty Dog is a totally different ball game. They were already a family with Sony because they were "adopted" officially by them. Bungie still left because of differences with Microsoft. It's very telling thing about a relationship with a company like Microsoft when you decide to work with them rather than being built by them, it seems to become a terrirotial issue. When they allowed Bungie to depart they went to the entity thats worse than Microsoft in creative management and thats Activision. I would consider such a move an insult (really, think about it). When Microsoft purchases companies it does not feel natural from an outside perspective and there is zero harmony. I think it is good that they are creating companies from scratch, because they wont just destroy them or throw them away senselessly when things do not go their way. Sony and Naughty Dog both share a love of making games that help you "ride the movies", much like when Naughty Dog wasn't owned by Sony but was working second party with Sony while making published games for Universal with Crash. This is unlike like what the O' Conner said in the video, which is fans of Halo coming together to make a huge Halo, but rather Naughty Dog and Sony in tandem working together to make high quality movie-like games. This is also why Quantic Dream is so drawn to Sony. It wont be long until Sony makes them first party as well.

"It was a smart financial move on Sony's part. That was true by the time Andy and I left, but when you add the Uncharted series, it becomes obvious. It was also a good move for the Naughty Dog team. From that day forward, we had a comfortable place to focus on making the best games we could with all the support that only a company like Sony could provide. That focus and support continues to this day. But was it a smart move for Andy and me personally? In retrospect, I think so. But who knows what would have happened were Andy and I still leading an independent Naughty Dog!"

Without Sony...there would've never been an Uncharted. They told Naughty Dog to make that game, because they were working on another title.
