Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Let's be honest Nintendo's pricing for NES and SNES games is a rip off

some of the games are cheap, and some aren't. You can get many games that go for 40-$60 for just $8. If that's not cheap then what is? I mean i guess if you want to go the illegal route then any price seems expensive.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

You should probably upgrade to a nice TV.

Maybe you should upgrade to an SNES.

I have a Wii. Not a huge Nintendo fan. I love me some Pokemon but I don't like cheating on Sony. I have many many many times in the case of Pokemon though. I have had a gameboy color, gameboy advance, gameboy advance sp, nintendo ds, nintendo 64, gamecube and a Wii so there's that too.. I never had a SNES, I was a Sega Genesis kid. I was a whore for the N64. I probably played it a lot more than PS1 when I wasn't busy playing Crash.

I think I had made up for everything with the last generation and this one. I practically abused my gamecube and my xbox, the PS2 was the spoiled kid who got everything and all my love. Half of my xbox games were horrible (I had fricking Aquaman) and I probably had less than 10 games for my gamecube. Meanwhile I've probably had upwards of 50 games for my PS2 counting all the games I shared with my little brother too.

"I don't like cheating on Sony " <-- LOL wtf ...

what exactly don't you understand?

$10 is really not that much for somthing that's going to give you hours of entertainment and bring back great old school memories.

As with most people here, I don't see the problem. If people are willing to buy them at that price, well, it's priced correctly. If not then they won't sell.

I also don't get this "cheating on Sony" thing. Call me insane, but buying a game or console from someone other than Sony (be it MS or Nintendo or anyone else) shouldn't make you feel guilty. If you haven't played the games, then the entry price is more than reasonable.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Surely you must be kidding. Are you trying to argue SNES games look better? I could say this same thing but replace PS1 with SNES. Only a few SNES games still look good even today. They are aged 2D games with low quality graphics. Most of the best PS1 games look great today. RE2 and 3 have aged very well. The FF games still look great. PS1 games look awesome on my HDTV.

I assure you, I have never serious'd moar in my entire life. I own no shortage of PS1 classics, and it has been horrifying to realize that many of my favorite PS1 games have looked and played like absolute garbage this whole time.

Actually having a nice HD TV usually makes older 3D games worse.  Jaggies and streched screens ahoy.

The N64 and PS1 games I've seen on my TV looked terrible, so I use my old SD TV instead.

Remember, it's only a rip-off if you pay for it.

I've been gaming for quite a while, I have no problem with graphics on NES, SNES, or PSX. In fact, usually when a remake comes around I feel like an old classic work of art has been tainted.

I am sure there are some cases where I would feel otherwise, but certainly not for the most part.

Also, on prices of old games, I really have no quarrel with them. The lower the price, the lower the time I take to consider making the purchase. I mean, a single play at a videogaming arcade costs more than some of the deals Nintendo is offering now.

Just so long as they fix the refresh rate.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Make them 99c and 1.99 respectively and a lot more people would buy them up. Not like they can possibly make a loss in each sale since it's digital.

Few people are not going to spend good money on such ancient games.
