Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Let's be honest Nintendo's pricing for NES and SNES games is a rip off

Given how poorly most PS1 games have aged, I'd much rather play an SNES game any day. So, if anything, they're underpriced.

This.

Games should be priced and judged based on their overall quality instead of their age.

PS1 games are a ripoff as well and I'd prefer to play nintendo's classics over PS1 because PS1 games look ridiculously horrible due to the artstyles.

Last time I looked, no one is making anyone buy these. My problem is not price but the RIAA makes it impossible for the game I most want to be on the service.

Mike from Morgantown

What game would that be?

You can follow the PS 2006 philosophy and work 2 jobs! 2nd job can more then fund your digital needs!

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Surely you must be kidding. Are you trying to argue SNES games look better? I could say this same thing but replace PS1 with SNES. Only a few SNES games still look good even today. They are aged 2D games with low quality graphics. Most of the best PS1 games look great today. RE2 and 3 have aged very well. The FF games still look great. PS1 games look awesome on my HDTV.

I assure you, I have never serious'd moar in my entire life. I own no shortage of PS1 classics, and it has been horrifying to realize that many of my favorite PS1 games have looked and played like absolute garbage this whole time.

I just bought Balloon Trip for 30 cents and Super Metroid is in the pipeline for the same price. I really can't hear you over the sound of how mad you are.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

Thank goodness for emulators.

Final Fantasy IX looks and plays good on emulator, 2D games still look good. Other than that though, most 3D games look aweful.

Compared to recent 3D games, or even PC games at the time. So many games used bad geometry that was blurred away by the crap resolution. and the clipping shows everywhere whether you put it in higher res or not :P.

I completely agree. Early polygon games looked bad at the time and every year age poorly  I would much rather have an SNES game than a PS1 or N64 one.
