Forums - Sony Discussion - Only select Wamart locations will carry PS Vita games now?

@Max/Chark

For what it is worth according to the retailers own website. Specifically the local store search. This story appears to be genuine. I randomly checked three local stores. One had the system and games. One just had games listed, and the last had neither the system or games. When I get a chance I will check the veracity of those claims at least in regards to one of the stores I looked up. It could be a clerical error, but it seems kind of like a odd one to have.

it's a shame, i am unsure of what future the vita will hold. In the next year could it rise in sales with good support, or discontinued. I honestly have no idea at this point.

makes you question is the vita the next psp go?

Damn. Not looking good for the vita. But this may not be as bad as it seens. Moving stock around a business happens with a lot of products. If you concentrate on the stores it sales well on you free valuable space else where. What would really kill the Vita is if Walmart stop selling the games and console completly.

Moving stock could be step one, step two could be selling that stock off without restocking. Step three could be discontinuing it.

if true, it is really bad.  Vita software should not be on the list for allocation to stores with stronger sales.  If your wanting to move discontinued merchandise or slow blowers to a blizzard area then yes, but not software for a fresh handheld.  It's not a product that Walmart should be allocating.

Its January. Everything is selling low. Stores do these kind of things all the time.

not with this particular product they don't

I live in Australia and I think the American Walmart in Australia is called Kmart. My point is that the same thing has happened to Kmart in Australia they just don't sell PS Vita games and still sell PSP's.

hopeful things will turn around

Its only one store but kinda bad news

VITA 32 GIG CARD.250 GIG SLIM & 160 GIG PHAT PS3

Looks like my Wal-Mart (Near Georgia Southern Univ. in Statesboro, Ga) . Mine only had like five Vita games last time I checked. They did have Assassin's Creed on launch when Gamestop was sold out, though. I think it's legit. Sad, though. I played like two hours of Virtua Tennis this morning. Vita is a great device but it just can't get any traction.

I can also confirm the picture in the OP. Same thing happened at my local walmart, an empty shelf where the Vita once was. Didn't ask what they were going to replace it with though.

Nintendo still doomed?
