Expect PS4 to be more GPU powerful if that's the case since that have an A8 + 7670. Unless that's a Crossfire 6670 in which case 720 FTW.

Also, expect 720p graphics for the most part lol...

Also also, look for 720 to keep hardware based backwards compatibility with 360 while PS4 will have to rely on emulation.

It's using an A10 according to the newest rumor.

According to the latest info the old specs were correct (check link on first page)

Nope. A-10 according to the newest rumors, and even those are months old.

I understand what the newest rumours are. IGN is claiming that the "previous" rumours were true, lol.

They're only talking about the ones they reported on. Since then, Vg247 has reported an A-10. http://www.vg247.com/2012/11/01/ps4_details_playstation_4/

So yeah if the IGN rumor is true, then the VG247 rumor is probably true as well since it was a sort of follow-up to the previous one.

For fuck sakes these are the old rumours guys. Its not like the employees left today.

The rumours have moved on significantly with the PS4 getting significantly upgraded specs. Not really sure about the 720...as it stands now though its just about confirmed that PS4 will be using an 8 series gpu and a more later APU.

It also makes MUCH more sense for console makers to go with the later APU tech as it is significantly better with power consumption. Come on guys you really shouldnt believe everything you read...

I remember learning that console specs are underpowered in the early stages of development and the final kits are usually better.

Don't know about the all the specs but in terms of RAM is the other way around. Early dev kits usually have double the RAM of the final ones.

According to the latest rumors the ps4 initially targeted 2GB GDDR5 RAM but then increased it to 4GB (as in target specs, not dev kit)

They are implying without saying so many words (assuming they're secret source was from NVIDIA) IGN can't rate games worth a hoot anymore but they are fairly accurate for news and info leaks.

dude just think for a second. What are the chances IGN actually knows the details of the leaked documentation that the lawsuit is about.

and no they are not. They are usually full of shit when it comes to hardware specs. Reminds me of the vita hardware specs they were going on about lol. What they do most of the time is grab whatever new rumor that is going around in gaf/semiA/b3d etc and publish it. Sadly this time around they are sticking to the older ones.

I mean listen...the next systems could be weaker than wii for all we know BUT if they are gonna go by the rumors the least they could do is go with the latest ones

You have to ask yourself the question of "Why" they would use the older rumour instead of the newer ones. Trust me, I am no defender of IGN and have watched their downfall  for quite sometime now but they have been accurate before.....

I'm not that spec savy so I'll just wait to see what the games look/run like.

If the top year 1 titles aren't looking like starwars 1313/running at 1080p/60fps. Then this is not the leap I was hoping for.

It'll also be interesting to see what actually ground up/ambitious wii U titles look like

With a 7670 and a 6670(even worse!) you looking at a slight step up from current gen...think along the lines of WiiU.

WiiU is definitely stronger than current gen, and i believe we will see the difference in a year or two maybe less. But its not going to be a massive difference....and its certainly gonna be at 720p.

Given sonys recent ambitions they made public...the specs do not aline.

sure they must have been at least a bit accurate before but I bet you anything there would be another source that posted those info before them.

Again tell me...how in the world do you think IGN would know the sensitive data that was leaked during this incident? lol I mean seriously

Even the older rumor stuff were posted AFTER other soruces started to talk about it. IGN is not the place to go if you want to know what the latest rumors are

Sony's only ambition now, is making profits anywhere they can. Those specs seem to be in line with that.

No matter how customised....those GPU's will not be able to do starwars1313 at 1080p at 60FPS. Its just not reasonable at all.

Well its either that or the game is a linear QTE fest.
