Just for reference, this Wii U number is lower than the PS3 did it's first January during these same weeks (Jan 2007), so the Wii U is starting to develop a disturbing trend of posting sub-PS3 numbers when it was that ridiculous launch price still in 2006/07.
Lower first December than the PS3 in North America too in NPD. That's not a good sign.
Wii of course was still hot selling 90k+ this week in 2007 in Japan.

the wii u will be killed off by 2014. its just not selling and its only 299$, not being able to sell so soon after launch indicates that nintendo fans have moved on, it basically has no fanbase.

jesus christ people. New consoles take a while to start selling well.
Consoles are about library, so you need to wait for library. Killer apps help but it's not so oftwn that you'll get that killer app. Wait for the games...wait gor wii fit U.

I think Wii Fit U will dissapoint honestly. It's an old idea by now and the market has been flooded with fitness games, a soccer mom is not going to pay $300+ play a few more Wii Fit mini-games.
I think it will perform a lot like Nintendogs from DS to 3DS.
Nintendogs DS: 23.6 million (approx)
Nintendogs + cats: 2.7 million (approx)

thing is about soccer moms and the rest of the people that bought the wii, those people will probably never come back to gaming, there just not gamers, they bought something that looked cool at the time and thats it, they don't give a crap about the next system, graphics or sequels.
