The main thing is that when people share something on Facebook, we want to give them the ability to broadcast things, but also retract them later, and have them be removed immediately. Microsoft was more willing to do things specific to Facebook.

But isnt Bing now using Nokia maps?

This will add some much needed search market share to Bing - Yahoo but in a grand scheme of things, this really doesn't hurt Google very much.

Now if Apple goes ahead and dumps Google search on the iphone/ipad like they did with maps and replaces it with Facebook + Bing + Yahoo search or some home cooked search engine, Google has a real problem on their hands.

I don't see how this is good news unless you area MSFT fan or investor....the majority of people use google and that is a fact. So in the end this is a loss for consumers.

No, Microsoft licenced Nokia's geographical database. Nokia Maps, which have more features than Bing Maps, is exclusive to Nokia's products.

Not really that big of a deal. Ive never used facebook search before and i probably will just continue to use Google. I like Bing. Its a good search engine But typing in google is so routine i dont think ill ever change.

Don't see why Apple would do that as Windows Phone is a competitor. So might as well use the best search engine out there, Google.

Even if they do drop it, there are millions of android devices out there.
