Forums - Gaming Discussion - Who owns both ps3 and 360, and have a similar problem?

Same here, but i play ps3 over xbox. Nice collection of trophies good friend-list and exclusives makes me play ps3 more.

I don't think I could ever bother with games that don't have trophies now lol. Never gonna buy a Wii U or Xbox whatever as trophies are just ingrained me now I guess. Pretty odd. Not a big deal anyway as there are tons of games I so want to play which I'll never really find the time for :(.

I don't own a PS3, but I understand what you mean. Achievements are addicting... . Most of my PS3 friends don't care about trophies, and don't understand why I make a big deal about achievements.

I never enjoyed the xbox360 achievement system due to earning nothing once you get all of the achievements, PS3's trophies however have PLATINUM trophies which is more satisfying once you ace the game. Call me picky, but i never enjoyed the achievement sounds, it sounds similar to a friend getting online or just a random notification. PS3's trophy sound, sounds way better(in my opinion). Some people say the xbox's achievement sounds is like a poopie falling in a toilet haha! no but honestly, i prefer ps3's and the ps3 has a big library of games, multiplatform and exclusives to add to that.

If you include XBL and independent titles the 360 has a much bigger library.  The 360 has more digital content then the PS3, Wii U, PS Vita, 3DS and Wii combined.

Nope. Tend to leave 360 to collect dust while I play on PS3. Any games on 360 that I care to play are mult-platform, so they're on PS3 already, and perform better. And, in most cases, play better because of the 360 controller.

The design has came a long way since the Dreamcast controller, which hurts the crap out of my thumbs, but, it's still not quite there yet. Most people I know buy special controllers for 360 to get around that problem.

I'm the opposite. The Playstation controller has been hurting my hands since the original, but the Dreamcast and 360 controlls have always felt comfortable and have never cramped my hands up. I don't know anybody with 3rd party controlers for either 360 or PS3, everyone has full sets of official controlers. While some of my friends agree with my on the Playstation controllers, none of them agree with you on the 360 controller.

I don't play FPS, I play fighters.  All of my friends, including myself acknowledge that the 360 controllers are crap when it comes to fighters.  If you're playing an FPS, then, 360 controller is slightly better, but, at least the PS3 controller is still usable.  No one likes the 360 controllers for fighting games.  I was at a party a couple weeks ago, and folks were complaining.  Didn't even know them.

But, even with fighters, the default PS3 controllers aren't truely enough.  You need a fight stick, or a hit box.

I thought I was the only one I buy games on PS3 but I never end up finishing them. But I always finish them on Xbox.

Lol...

Flip PS3/360 around in above post. Especially regarding the controller. 360 controller > PS3 controller by a mile. It is only preferred by those who "grew up" on the Playstation controller and even then, most of my friends that have both consoles prefer the 360 controller better. In fact, I see in stores all the time where there are 360 style controllers for PS3. I never see PS3 style controllers for 360 on sale at Walmart, Gamestop, etc.

Are you talking about exclusive games? All other games (multiplat) should have exactly the same trophies^^

I choose to play games on my 360 over ps3, so multiplayer wise I choose this as my console

but recently I have been trying to build up my ps3 collection more and I have to say, I haven't completed a number of games for the console nor do i care to go back to finish them....where as on 360 I completely finish them and try to get all the achievements also.

I dont understand why....perhaps it's the achievements? Anyone else have a similar problem

Honestly I dont care much for trophies so i do understand what you are saying.  I finish my games on ps3 anyways but achievements work much better in my opinion because they can set it a number of different ways and you know where you are at.  For example.

5g
10g
15g
20g
25g
50g
100g

etc.

where as when I play PS3 you have 3

Bronze
Silver
Gold

And then they measure all that through levels and percentages so it is confusing where I know exacctly how much I have on 360

For example

X360 - 21365 Gamerscore

PS3 - Level 11 23%
