Forums - Gaming Discussion - Who owns both ps3 and 360, and have a similar problem?

Were it not for Journey (which still needs to be completed) and Final Fantasy XIII-2 (which also needs to be completed, now that I think of it), my PS3 would have had no new games in 2012. All we played, as far as I can remember, is Little Big Planet 2 and Dead Space 2. And, yeah. It's because of Achievements. I feel good when I get an Achievement and I feel nothing when I get a Trophy. 360 has always been my multi-plat machine and PS3 has always been my exclusive machine. In 2012, PS3 didn't really have any exclusives that convinced me to part with my money. So, here we are.

I choose to play games on my 360 over ps3, so multiplayer wise I choose this as my console

but recently I have been trying to build up my ps3 collection more and I have to say, I haven't completed a number of games for the console nor do i care to go back to finish them....where as on 360 I completely finish them and try to get all the achievements also.

I dont understand why....perhaps it's the achievements? Anyone else have a similar problem

yea think im the opposite, bought nearly everything in the end of 2012 xbox live sale but come seem to commit and finish anything, just keep going back to ps3, vita and pc. I think for me its the controller as halo, fable (favourite xbox series) and forza are two good for the controller to effect me badly but other games just seem a hassle to play as my hands are pretty small.

I also have a similar problem with my Wii U. I've got a few good games and MiiVerse makes me feel connected but it just doesn't feel like I'm competing with anybody else. Nobody knows which games I have. Nobody knows how well I'm doing in my games. It's just an isolated experience. Play games for fun? That's crazy.

I have both as well, but since I've had the PS3 for longer, I tend to get multiplat games on that, since trophies is what I have most of, and will build on that. It doesn't make sense for me to build on achievements now because it will dwarf my trophy collection.
I only get exclusives for my 360....which isn't really much these days.

Nope. Tend to leave 360 to collect dust while I play on PS3. Any games on 360 that I care to play are mult-platform, so they're on PS3 already, and perform better. And, in most cases, play better because of the 360 controller.

The design has came a long way since the Dreamcast controller, which hurts the crap out of my thumbs, but, it's still not quite there yet. Most people I know buy special controllers for 360 to get around that problem.

I'm the opposite. The Playstation controller has been hurting my hands since the original, but the Dreamcast and 360 controlls have always felt comfortable and have never cramped my hands up. I don't know anybody with 3rd party controlers for either 360 or PS3, everyone has full sets of official controlers. While some of my friends agree with my on the Playstation controllers, none of them agree with you on the 360 controller.

They still make those Madcatz turbo controllers right? I had a PS3 for a little while and it just collected dust, I got so bored with it real fast. I agree the achievement system on Xbox Live is very addictive, it makes the games more fun and keeps you engaged, even for games you don't particularly like.

I still play games for fun but prefer if they have achievements/thropies.

OT:  I more or less have a similar problem I prefer my multiplatform games on the 360 and I slighly like achievements more then thropies so I tend to get try to more of them compared to thropies.  Not having a platinumed a game yet probably doesn't help either.

i have the same problem. i feel invested in the ps3's trophies so when it comes to the wii or 360 i have a sense of "wasting valuable gaming time". i really feel like i can't justify buying multiple consoles next gen. as much as it will be slightly disappointing to miss out of a few really good games, i'm sure i'll have soo many good games on just one that i'll never be bored.

Ps3 has its trophy system so theres not much difference between the 2, as for not replaying your Ps3 games mabye you just like Xbox more?

I know it has trophies but it seems more than a hassle than achievements for some reason, perhaps I am biased towards 360

you're biased just like i am biased against achievments.  achievments lack of a plat for getting everything is very dissappointing to me.  the plat is the best part.

I'm not a fan of 3rd party controllers and Madcatz is probably the worst manufacturer of them.   I slightly prefer the 360 controller over the DS3 even though the DS3's build quality is a bit better its just a bit too light and the its not as confortable in my hands.  The DS3 has a better standard d-pad but the 360 has better trigger buttons and the postiton of the analog sticks is better plus being concaved is a better more confortable design.

Sorry, I don't game for Achievements and Trophies so I really don't know what you mean.
