with the proper parental guidance, interacting with different people of all status, and making friends is always important in a child's development into adulthood. in my opinion, public schools

I don't know the expenses of private schools where you live, but not everybody who goes to a private school is upper class in Australia. Also are you trying to imply kids don't make friends by going to a private school?

Private schools, obviously, with some exceptions.

I enjoy my Public School.
As long as I stay in AP and Honors classes I'll get an adequate education from them.

Key phrase: Not Everybody

What I said was, interacting with different people of all status is important. Does that answer your question?

Private schools obviously tend to be superior over public schools since they are more driven by making profits.

Anyway, I think it is a sick system where kids who have richer parents have access to superior education. They don't deserve better just because they happen to be born into a different family. The sad part though is that the public schools may be flawed in many areas and that removing one major option to avoid them might not be the best course of action.

I don't know much about the quality of home schooling, but I do think it will often cause the students' social growth to slow down greatly. Again, removing this option might not be the best course of action though since some people legitimately can't be around others for several reasons. Severe social disabilities and highly contagious sicknesses, to name some common examples.

Oh well, the world will never be perfect.

Extremely subjective question. Both public and private schools can hit the low or high end of education. There are stellar examples of each and horrible examples of each.

My sister put my niece in a private Christian school when she was younger. She eventually pulled her out because the school had a policy of letting the upperclassmen be in charge of the younger students during breaks and basically ignored any complaints of bullying. Then, after my sister put my niece into public school, she learned that she was way behind in math and a few other subjects. She came very, very close to having to repeat a grade because of that. It had nothing to do with ability, either, as my niece would make the principle's list the next year.

Every school should be evaluated independently. It should never be assumed that being private means the school is superior.

With homeschooling, it comes down to whether or not the teacher has the ability to teach everything the child should know, and if the child gets enough interaction with other children otherwise. Learning how to fit into society is an important part of school.

I've known several poor-ish kids that have gone too Private Schools. Their parents just gather their money and put it towards their child's edication.
