Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Pachter says the Wii U optimistically will sell around 40- 45 M units LTD.

My prediction that I've made for a month is now in line with Michael Pachter. I predicted between 40-45 million, at best 50 million. This means the games and marketing need to pick up or else.

!!!! .. your kidding me

Too late, Pachter!

So I guess we can confirm that the Wii U will be a success!!!

If your predictions line up with Pachter's you shouldn't be happy about it. I suggest changing your prediction to at least 50 Million so we can all laugh at him when he is wrong.

That sounds like a good prediction. I think it will do better than GC and less than N64.

Pachter said worst case scenario the Wii U will sell 25, but I am more in league with his optimistic sales prediction. The gamecube numbrs and the residue of the Wii have to increase some stable following.

I'm not sure why anyone is worried about the Wii U. Poor sales only mean that it gets less third party support and financially weakens the company. Given that I imagine people only really buy it for first party games and Nintendo is in a great position financially with not much chance of being taken down, does it matter if it sells badly?

If the Wii U was a mass market item, I would raise my expectation. I predicted the Wii would sell 80 million in 2009 and so far it passed it. The Wii U will be the hardcore Nintendo console, which means it will not sell anywhere near the Wii.

45 million isnt bad at all. Nintendo will profit off of the Wii U.
