Forums - Gaming Discussion - Is Uncharted the most successful Naughty Dog franchise? Maybe not...

Tagged games:

If anything, Uncharted shows that ND are rising back again to their heyday, because as much as I love Jak and Daxter, the sales were quite poor coming off the tailwind of Crash's success.

No offence, but was this ever in any doubt?

Crash Bandicoot was the PS1 (along with some other stuff :P). I always knew he was a massive sales success. The fact that Uncharted is measuring up to it is more impressive, really.

Uncharted could start approaching some Halo numbers if Sony really push the franchise next gen, and especially if the movie is made and it's big.

Just take the set pieces from any uncharted game, put them in live action, and make a story to match and you have the best action movie in years.  I mean who would see that train crashing tunnel scene from 2 and not go HOLY SHNEIKIES!!!!

Obviously, although I think The Last of Us will be better and maybe they will make it into a franchise.

Crash Bandicoot 1 was the first game 2 grace my PS1 in my eyes from childhood memories its hard 2 beat. The uncharted series was amazing but I think The Last Of Us might top Uncharted (only if they turn it into a series) but they have said the story ends in the game but I would love 2 see it carry over onto the PS4 so Naughty dog can work there programming genius with Sonys new gen.

I think that I read that Naughty Dog was THE most successful American developer in the PS1 era

But there is no doubt that Uncharted has done gone great for Naughty Dog and Sony, enough for an expansion at ND

Crash was awesome! I still have found memories of his games, Crash Bash being my all time favorite. So much fun with a full group, especially the polar bear dash where you knock people out of the ring.

Anyways, both franchises are awesome and I would have love to have seen some crash easter eggs in either Jak or Uncharted but copyright issues and stuff.

We don't know nearly enough.  In any case I think LoU will be a stand alone story for Joel and Ellie, but really I have no idea where the story will go.  Some games are just meant to be single installments story wise (SotC and Heavy Rain for example).

That would be my 2nd fav, all my mates and I agree the table soccer (or whatever it was called) was the best!! You didn't like the soccer one?

I remember it. It was pretty fun but not as fun as the polar bear knock out rounds, which is what i meant by dash. If I had to pick favorites it would be Polar bear knock out, Tanks and the falling floor ones ( i wish i knew the names) The table soccer one with the force fields and stuff was still a pretty fun minigame.
