I really believe that Microsoft is testing my patience or the God of Video Games just hate me. My two months old Halo 4 Xbox 360 slim broke down on me last night during my game. I just don't understand how Microsoft can't figure out how to make a hardware that doens't break down on you. I have gone threw TWO RROD and now this. The only good thing coming out of this is they always repair it for free and they give you a extra 3 months XBL Gold extension.

UPDATE: Just got finish talking to the Xbox rep and they are repairing it for free and will pay for my shipping. Took some picture for proof to make sure they will send back my Halo 4 edition console. I have heard they just give you a different console when you send in for repair.

lmao hahaha but I like it as my own personal heater :P
Seriously though that is bad luck. The later models are very low in failure rate compared to early models. Failure rate has been cut down to %16 as of 2010 so it is likely around %14 now. Ps3 sits at 12-14% as well so when i see somebody's break now I just find it to be bad luck. At least it's free though instead of having to pay $100

I really thought that I have to pay for the repair. Been reading threw some forums, Microsoft charge shipping and repairs for some system failure. Lucky for me I have a problem that still cover under my free 1-year warranty.

Isn't that obvious for a console you bought two months ago ?
I don't how it is in the US, but in Germany you get a 1 year mandatory (and free) warranty with everything you buy (except if you buy something from a private person) from the manufacturer.
I bet it's the same or at least similar elsewhere.
Still weird. Haven't heard of a slim breakdown yet and two months is extremely unlucky.

No Im saying that his xbox is under warranty. Id rather my xbox break under warranty rather than out. Thats all I was saying. It's $100 if it out of warranty
