Forums - Gaming Discussion - When will Nintendo's Wii U get a price cut?

when you say so

4 doom threads and still counting.

Not before March because I don't think they want to eat that loss for this fiscal year.

Probably somewhere between April-June (E3) depending on how dire the situation gets. It's quite possible another round of 360/PS3 cuts are coming too by next spring/summer, so Nintendo may have no choice.

It's a legitimate question. Don't you think they will cut the price? Sony did it pretty soon with the PS3, Nintendo did it with 3DS and so on.

It still qualifies as a doom thread since price cut means the console is doing bad. But to answer your question: by the end of the year.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a $50 price cut in November...$249/$299.

I say Europe maybe SummerTime? But if they have MK then they need to bundle for holidays! 3DS is gonna eat Wii Sales a little IMO, and kinda obliterate Vita come Oct!

I see many Sony fans are capitalizing on the Wii U's lowish numbers this Holiday... All I have to say to you is:

OT: Not this soon. Though I do see them getting rid of the Basic Set.

A price cut or a Wii U Slim.

By summer, they will learn from these months, announce some new Mario games at E3, do another Ambassador program in august.

I don't think they can make it to November without a price drop unless Nintendo is willing to basically let the system drown, I think the sales are going to get ugly unless one of the big gun Nintendo franchises comes before fall.

I'm talking 3D Mario, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong Country, Smash Bros. or something that big (a legit 5+ million seller). Not Pikmin 3 or even Yoshi Land.
