They shouldn't be rounding up and destroying violent video games, they should be locking away the maniacs that are so mentally unstable a game can cause them to go on a killing spree.

I'll find it funny how this thread will end up different from other threads, despite the science for banning violent games actually being slightly stronger in this case.



The group held a press conference this morning during which a spokesperson explained to Polygon that they have achieved what they set out to do, making this weekend's event unnecessary.

Ah, yes. "Raising awareness." The go-to excuse whenever someone plans to do something stupid and then pusses out.



When will people understand that gamers don't become violent due to video games? Goodness, how delirious can some people get about things?



Good first step. Extreme over-reactionaries are starting to cool down and come to their senses. Now if only the gun-control advocate over-reactionaries would do the same.



 

While it's true that I cringe at the sight of people playing something like Gears or COD, I highly doubt videogames are by any means a direct cause for violence. At most it's just a catalyst feeding a bigger internal problem.
