Forums - Sony Discussion - Problem with PS3 controller, help needed

so a while back i got two new PS3 controllers and now they both have the same problem. they keep pressing buttons by them selfs, for example if i leave it on by its self in a middle of a call of duty game it will start crouching, shooting, throwing grenades you name it. its seems that it doesnt move the anolog sticks. is this a commen problem? does anybody know how to fix this/

The same thing happened to me. I opened it and saw that the battery (supposed to be on the center kept in this possition by two plastic pieces) was loose. So it kept touching some circuits amd things. I used a piece of paper :p to keep it on the middle and it worked for about 6 months. When the problem started again I just bought a new one.

hmmm thats interesting i might try it, why didnt u just try doing it again after?

are they original DualShock 3 or are they 3rd party? i still have my two sixaxis from 2007 and they work almost perfect (the analog sticks are a bit squicky and get stuck forward some times, too much FPS) but my DS3 (my main controller, others for my wife, guests, and while the DS3 is charging) i bought in 2009 still in great shape...

Proudest Platinums - BF: Bad Company, Killzone 2 , Battlefield 3 and GTA4
