Well, thems some nice PS3 numbers. Was pleasing to see it adjusted up after what VGChartz had it at. And Wii-U down from what we had it at, swings and roundabouts.

As always, nice from 3DS too. I'm pleased Fantasy Life opened well. I like Level 5, less than I used to, but I still think they're very respectable developers. Couldn't have picked a better time to make an Animal Crossing clone either :P

Nice to see about Yakuza too, didn't even notice that. Tbh, Yakuza has surprised me. I didn't think it would be able to sustain itself on ~ 1 million worldwide sales per instalment, but I guess they get to recycle assets.  And Sega don't exactly have tonnes of hits on their hands at the moment.

Good thread. Just stunned at how Nintendo and third parties are a love story in Japan, unlike the West... Things are working great on 3DS for them there...

no next week should be bigger or stagnant (not sure of the day the market exactly bounces back)

right its new year day week for japan or a few days after,if i remember rightly

3DS did great in 2012. PS3 did really good. Wii is dying really fast.
Wii U will surpass Vita numbers next week or the week after that.

Few games? PS3 support in Japan is amazing, way way way better than Wii's support 

I meant few new releases, or at least ones that sell. If you look at the charts, it's like 10% PS3 games, yet the hardware somehow holds up.

I look at it this way, the 3DS is selling more then 5 times as much as the PS3. There is also around 5 times as much SW titles in top 30. Numbers I am not sure about, to lazy to check. Wii U is an anomaly of course. PS vita sells next to nothing as their is nothing in the top 30.
