People expected PSP to make Nintendo go out of the handheld business. PS3 would win the generation. PS Vita would kill the 3DS after it's release. We know how that went up. Based on the knowledge gathered during these generations, it's fair and makes much more sense to say that Wii U will do better than PS4 than otherwise. Lower-end hardware always won against higher-end hardware in the video game industry.
i dont think so. i dont think this is a blip for wii u. i seriously think it will be nintendo's lowest selling console ever. right after their highest selling console ever, the wii.
There are too many unknowns to say anything yet. At the end of this year, things will be clearer.

Wii-U will be on Nintendo franchise life-support by the end of the year, just like the Gamecube was.
Wii U will have a 15 million lead in Japan when Wii sold nowhere near 15 million in total lifetime there. Riiiiight.

I agree some what. I believe Nextbox will win, followed by the Wii U , the PS4 will be like Vita.
Lol the wii u is not going to beat ps4 hell the vita might outsell wii u when it's all said and done. The wii had a nitch the cool controllers. I played the wii u it's a big clunky controller way to big and intrusive! The vita is actually a really good system minus that button on the back which feels weird but no where near as bad as Wii u's giant controller. Granted it will sell to kids otherwise its a bust. The thing that will save wii u is games and software as of launch its a huge bust considering all they invested. Ps4 might actually start out the same way slow out of the gate but i doubt it. Next Christmas will be the ultimate battle we will see!
Sony has no competition when it comes to Mario or Halo. Nothing they have can sell the amount of hardware those games push. Playstation-All-Stars tanked because Sony's first party is unrecognizable. Without third party exclusives, they cannot compete.
