The Walkng Dead is being touted as one of the best games of the year. It even won game of the year at the VGAs. I can't help but notice that The Walking Dead's style is quite similar to that of Heavy Rain. Both are more dependent on tHe story rather than the gameplay. When Heavy Rain received some backlash when it first came out as some people didn't even call it a game, The Walking Dead seems to be universally praised. How far do you guys think this style of gameplay will go? Which game do you prefer?

Heavy Rain is amazing. The walking dead game sucks horse dick. They are nothing alike.

Both are barely games. More like interactive movies. Monkey Island is an adventure game, Walking Dead and Heavy Rain have more in common with a choose your own adventure than video games.

But as they are they are perfectly enjoyable experiences in their own way. Walking Dead is the better of them, by a lot.

I prefer Heavy Rain because your actions really do impact the story. Characters die or live, very different endings.

In the Walking Dead it was a bit disappointing to me, charaters die or leave at one point or another and you cannot cahnge it, only one ending as well.

I say the Walking Dead because I just couldn't get into Heavy Rain, I gain it a shoot and quit from boredom when you go to the model as that women and see the main character there. 

Haven't played heavy rain, but if the story is half as good as Walking Dead, count me in.

Is this one of the cases of people having double standards? I just downloaded the demo, but from seeing your comment, I might just download the whole game and just play it through before making a comment on the topic

I loved Heavy Rain and I can't wait for Beyond: Two Souls

I loved Heavy Rain, really, it's one of the best 10 games I've ever played. Need to try out the Walking Dead yet, but it's not translated into my language (and doesn't seem it will be anytime soon) and I don't know what level of English is needed to enjoy it without any restriction. Does it have subtitles at least?

I'm playing Persona 4 Golden in English right now and it's not an issue at all. Should I try this out too?

I prefer Heavy Rain a lot. The characters, the graphics all were amazing! May be it did not get much praise because of its full retail price? TWD is very cheap and many people thought they got better value with that price. I don't know, but TWD has many flaws in its story despite being an amazing game.
