I think it will be huge for 3DS this year. With a number of big games coming west this will be the year we finally transition from DS to 3DS. DS will die off and 3DS will take over. In Japan, MH4 will ensure it continues at a torrid pace. 15-20 million this year would be my prediction.

I haven't forgotten lol! There's rumors for a major pokemon announcement Jan 8th!
Aren't they dropping the price again to $130 for the regular 3DS and $170 for the XL?

If they do Vita is screwed!
Suprised it's up YOY. 3DS had a decent lineup, but few really major releases. I mean, its big holiday release was Papare Mario, and the only real system seller was NSMB2.
Next year should be a bit bigger with Animal Crossing, Brain Age, Luigi's Mansion, Monster Hunter 4, already slated and the possibility of some big titles down the stretch.
It will be up on YOY at least for the next 2 years. I predict 16 to 17 million sales this year. Hopefully, some more major games will be announced for it soon

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018
It will be up probably, as all the games already in Japan hit the west. But I'm not that optimistic, that it can manage 20M. That's quite a growth, if it does that I'm really impressed. More something like 15M.
Pokemon will not have the big impact. If gen 6 is coming (big if) it will be late 2013 at best. So it will have effect on sales mostly in 2014.
