3DS games are $30-40 retail, so, I'd expect to have the choice of picking a retail box over digital only.
I like to keep my games in cartridges.

no-one is forcing you to buy the digital download?

Except with Unchained Blades and a few other smaller titles they are digital download only releases.

Although, the idea of a full retail game being cheaper because it is download only is dead these days unless you are getting pieces of a game and not the whole thing or just smaller games like the Guild 01 releases or Pushmo/Crashmo.

After some 40hrs, This game has become a full fledge dungeon crawler. This game is designed first for PSP and then ported to 3DS. The buttons layout proves that. I still can't get over the fact that AB,XY are reversed.

The main thing that's superior on the 3DS version is the map on the second screen, so you can actually navigate without turning facing direction. I have not seen the PSP version so I am not sure how the map plays into this part.

The real game, IMO, doesn't start until chapter 4. What took me roughly 30 hrs to get there.

Yes, this is a grindy game.

The other thing is that, the game has no manual whatsoever and the official site is lacking information. i.e. VIT stat doesn't seem to give any addition HP, so, it's unknown what exactly it does.

There are quite a few misc annoying things that shouldn't be in a modern jrpg.

Huh?

Thanks for updated impressions, Galaki.  I might just wait for EOIV and then pick this up sometime after I've had the main course.
