Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Unchained Blades is $29.99 on eshop. what?

I don't know what this game is. Is it a big deal?

3DS games are $30-40 retail, so, I'd expect to have the choice of picking a retail box over digital only.
I like to keep my games in cartridges.

Same, but in this case I don't mind considering Xseed Games didn't really have the funds to do a retail version as well. I'm just glad they made the game available for us to play.

Probably not. My impression on it so far is that it's similar to Etrian Odyssey but feels like it predated EO. The graphics feels like it's from PS1 era as well as the gameplay.

Nothing about it has jumps out to make it a must have for me after a few hrs of play.

Is this new? Halo Reach is still like £50 on XBL while I can get the game brand new retail for about £10. Same with Gears 3 and most other titles cost much more than retail. Just sayin...

It's not about that. I am talking about why Nintendo doesn't (help) release a retail box for this game. It's digital only.

Anyone take the plunge yet? I'd like to hear some impressions.

$30 is a little steep though... and I still have Crimson Shroud to finish yet.

The consensus seems to be to hold out for Etrian Oddysey.

IMO, it a game that I would buy at $15. It just feel like an old game.

After more time with this game. It does get better. I like the silly humour.

There's a map on the touch screen but you can't do anything with it. It's automatic. It lacks all the features that's available to Etrian Odysses.

Especially annoying when you can't label what door "colour" that you can revisit once you got the key or the 1 way door that you cannot label.

The most annoying has to be the buttons mapping. The A and B are reverse, as well as the X and Y.

B for confirm and A for cancel. I've used up items trying to cancel out of the menu more than once, lol.

There's no way to remap the buttons.

This game is probably a straight port or something.

I've also experience my first stuck bug. Got wiped out and got a black screen instead of a game over screen. I don't even know what game over screen look like yet, lol.

It got better but still not worth $30 with the obvious lack of buttons mapping alone.
