Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Remedy Teases Alan Wake 2

"I didn't say they owned them. Learn to read people. But they kinda own Alan."

No, but you've implied it by basically saying M$ controls them. Also learn to research, Alan Wake isn't owned by MS. :)

Do we really need Alan Wake 2?

I haven´t played Alan Wake but it isn´t a huge franchise. Mybe it would be a smarter thing to try to establish a new franchise.

No, it isn't huge but "Remedy Entertainment" the creators of the original Max Payne and The Fall of Max Payne are (or were).

My take is that, just like "Rare", Remedy is another studio that MS dragged down to the gutter.

I am eagerly awaiting for a sequel on the PC.

Do you ever have a good thing to say?  You act like a game that has sold 1.3 million on 360 and we dont even know how much on PC.  Yeah those are bad numbers right? So what is some of your favorite games?  They better sell better than Alan Wake or else they are being dragged down by their publisher in your opinion.

Ever notice that Microsofts most successful relationships come from companies they created?

What are you saying?  Well i get what you are saying but how is that relevant?  What I was saying is that Alan Wake has been a success, nothing more.

My point is Microsoft works best in relation with people who have their same goals in mind. They arent the most liked corporation (and really, I doubt they care), but rather the most respected and they wouldn't have it any other way. All of the failed relationships they had this gen are a testament to that and the IP's they had exclusive to them last gen which never carried over. We will grow seeing less exclusives and more titles that have a major following. This is all Microsoft is paying attention to, much like Activision and EA (whom are closer to each other in mentality than any of the other corporations).

Alan Wake is one of my favs of this gen, super excited for a full sequel! I'm sure we'll see one some day regardless of whether Sam Lake is referring to it with that tweet or not.

I don't normally say this, but this post was a straight up epic fail.

Tooth paste is great for burns

Microsoft doesnt own anything pertaining to Alan Wake. Next gen Alan Wake could be on any platform if Microsoft doesnt pay Remedy for exclusivity.

Alan Wake is probably my favourite Xbox 360 exklusive so i'm hoping this is true!(but hope it will be released on the PC aswell as I will probably not buy xbox 720)

@DigitalDevilSummoner

Per chance did you even bother to watch that video you linked all the way through. It doesn't prove your point, but it does prove mine. Talk about self inflicted wounds. You doubled down on your epic fail, and came up with a even bigger epic fail. Rare is utterly resurgent, and that is the complete opposite of being in the gutter. You don't have to like the direction they are going, but that doesn't mean they are being unsuccessful. Their sports franchise, and their avatar product line are both bringing in the money in a serious way.

Implied or explicit it makes no difference. You went for a cheap shot, and got slammed right into the pavement. Microsoft bought a flagging developer with problems, and turned it around. Obviously Microsoft isn't hazardous to a third party developers health. Seeing as your prime example wasn't at all apt to the situation anyway, and it is the complete opposite of what you claimed.

You know what is real good for burns. Learning your lesson the first time, and not sticking your hand back into the flame. Attacking via a unrelated subject is like starting a war on a second front, and you know what they say about people who choose to fight a war on two fronts.

I agree, I thought the first game was decent but nothing amazing and the characters weren't that amazing either. I think it was a decent game, so I do think a new direction would be a decent idea, so long as it isn't Kinect....

I would love an Alan Wake 2, the first one was great and had a lot of potential. I really hope they make it more scary, as good as the atmosphere was in the first game it didn't do too well in creating a tense and eerie vibe.
