Forums - Gaming Discussion - Just got the Wii U as a gift!

For at least the next 4 or 5 years there will probably be (at least) 5 or 6 quality games released exclusively for the Wii U from Nintendo and third party publishers. For the most part these games will be unlike anything you can buy for other systems. If this is not interesting to you than I'm not sure what else to say ...

I would recommend playing Nintendoland with your wife (and children if you have them), along with friends. It is a truly non-pretentious game that simply aims to be fun. Beyond that, New Super Mario Bros. U is a very strong game and Pikmin will be coming out soon. There isn't a game on any other system that is really like any of these games, so returning it will mean you simply miss out on these experiences.

Wow! I smiled when I got socks, boxers, and a pair of jeans for Christmas and accepted my gift. Yes, I was disappointed but it was the thought that counted. You are going to return a gift from your wife. I wouldn't give anything away my family gives me until after some years have passed at least, especially from someone I hold close to. Secondly, the Wii U graphics are great, but haven't even been maxed out yet. Don't expect a huge leap in graphics of the 720/PS4. Even John Carmack has said their won't be big graphic leap next gen from last gen. Fanboys over-hype their favorite company's console. Either way you got that gift for free and out of love. Keep that gift man...
