Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony Terminates Iconic PS2

Yeah because no one wants to argue and everyone wants to agree on everything.^

What kind of research should Jay have done?

Also just because it says Japan does not mean they mean only Japan. Sony was not actually that clear on the matter.

Firstly, he should have followed the sources in the "article". He should have known the original statement said JAPAN. Nowhere else. Japan.

Secondly, he should have noticed the incorrect "150 Million" number.

The source in the article, to Ars Technica, states that Sony stopped shipping to Japan and the PS2 has shipped over 150 Million.

The article is simply fishing for hits by twisting words. Look at the title of the thread.

Tell me what bit wasnt clear.

Nice to see rubbish articles being posted on the VGChartz forums. Honestly.

Factually incorrect articles that are put together by imbeciles should be banned from the forums. They spread rubbish, incorrect information that causes arguments.

Thread makers should do research before they post trash.

Are you reffering to the OP or Author of the article?

Agree, this is completely bogus. Jay should have read it, instead of writing correct facts, he just used sensationalistic words for hits.

damn and me without the money to buy a new one.

LONG LIVE THE PS2 in our hearts minds and gaming history. now the DS can officially take it's place atop the console heap.

a new king will be crowned, but the legend that was PS2 will live on for ever, as it is the benchmark no other home console will ever achieve.

Doesn't handheld system be different from a home console?

Best Handheld last gen: DS

Best Home console last gen: PS2

Yes, but some people don't like having two winnings. I see that the DS as the Best selling Handheld Systema and the PS3 as the best selling home console. The real question is how long will they hold that crown for?

You are delusional if you believe that the PS3 will become the best selling home console of all-time. It should worry about surpassing the 360 (should be within a year) and the Wii before become the best selling home console all-time.

First off I could care less about hits, why the hell would I care?  I don't get paid for this.  All i've ever seen on this site about PS2 and sells in the last few months is people using their own guesses or things they've seen from other sites.  Nobody knows where the PS2 is and your guess is no better than this guys guess.  Lastly i want to go ahead and point out that Sony has been combining PS3/PS2 shipment figures which further proves my theory of it being a guess.  All we know is PS2 is between 150-160m and I find it absolutely pathetic that people are argueing over a decade old console.
