I have been wondering this for some time actually. Could it be that vgchartz is just not able to get preorder numbers for the game or are the numbers really that low that it actually does not make the top 40 list?

It'd be weird for there to be an issue like that for weeks and weeks without any mention of it. Are there any other cases of missing pre-order numbers for big retail releases? I haven't been here long so I wouldn't know.

I personally think it's just because the game's core audience--fans of crazy Japanese actioners--see no reason to buy Ninja Theory's reboot when A) it's been routinely shat on and laughed at by them for years now and B) you have Anarchy Reigns AND Revengeance coming out in the same time frame. These kinds of games don't exactly pull COD numbers, especially when Dante isn't involved.

What I'm wondering, though, is why these numbers took so long to come out. Is this normal for the holidays?

Wait are you guys really expect the Last of Us to only sell 300 k units first week in USA when it already has over 85k preorders 20 weeks before launch and before the marketing really starts. Thats a low estimate if you ask me. This will get 300k preorders alone so i expect first week sales more in the range of 450k-600k. And worldwide i think 800k-1.2million is possible if you ask me.

And dont get me wrong. Maybe i see it a liitle bit different than others God of War 3 had a 15 -20 minute demo months before release plus more of the singleplayer was shown so that was one of the main reasons there preorders were so high weeks before launch. Considering this fact i think Ascension is beasting. And normally i dont give JustThat gamer right but its true the main reason for people to buy God of War is the singleplayer and yet we have only seen about 6 minutes of it.Plus this game will most likely get a good marketing push from sony.

God Of War: Ascension has to do better, I want it to become the best-selling in the series so far. I would like it if they gave a demo of the single-player.

15 weeks is to the end of Q1. The guys at VGC assigned it 15 weeks probably because of its Q1 release window. Odd that they didn't do that for Pikmin 3.

I hope Wonderful 101 does well, it's also a Q1 title and I see nothing for it.
