I hate the artstyle to be honest. It is so Japanese and I am not into Manga / Anime at all.

And the 1 review so far is lower than the metacritic of skyrim. I lol'd.

Holy hell there is actually a person who never watched a Ghibli movie? I feel sorry for you

I feel sorry for people that cant respect other peoples opinions.  The ghibli movies are nothing special unless you are an anime fan.

as far an ni no kuni, it isnt on my radar at the moment.  I do like level 5, but this game just seemed too japanese to me.  I will look into it more when it is released, but as of now Im not interested.  I also think that they are going to have a problem with the name of the game here in the US...

I'm not an 'anime fan' and they're special to me. So there goes that argument.

Thats fine, that is your opinion.  That was my main point.

You said 'The ghibli movies are nothing special unless you are an anime fan' though. Which refers to everyone.

Well, to be honest, if the ghibli movies are special to you, that probably does make you an anime fan, even if you dont consider yourself one.  As the ghibli movies are a pretty good representative of most anime.

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

I disagree. Ghibli movies are pretty unique, even among anime. As someone who's watched a lot of anime over the last few years, I'd say Ghibli movies have more in common with a Pixar movie then anything else. They revel in their own worlds and atmosphere. The only way in which they really feel like anime is the simple fact that they are animated in Japan. The ghibli movies even have a distinct art style that is different from typical anime.

Ghibli movies appeal to everyone, not just anime fans. Thats why Spirited Away is one of the most popular cartoons of this century. It is Japans DIsney.

I wasn't going to get into the manga style argument, but that's just bullshit.  Tell that to Spirited Away, which won an Oscar and a Golden Bear.  Pretty much every film they've developed has received massive critical acclaim.  Why someone would try to down-play or deny that, I have no idea.

Artstyle looks like it's for children, which means I am not buying it. I don't watch children cartoons anymore, even if they might have a mature storyline.

I tried the demo and it's not that fun either. :/

Totally trying to hype up the wrong game

That comment sounds more childish than the artstyle itself...

On topic: I doubt it can be better than xenoblade. But what the hell do I know, I have'nt played it yet so we will see.

Final Ultimate Legendary Earth Power Super Max Justice Future Miracle Dream Beautiful Galaxy Big Bang Little Bang Sunrise Starlight Infinite Fabulous Totally Final Wonderful Arrow...FIRE! - Wonder-Red (The Wonderful101)

It'll be hard to top Xenoblade. From what I've seen this won't do it, but it could be a close second.
