probably this bit:

Global Software by Platform

PlatformYearly (change)Total
X360 137,316,716 (-11%) 731,253,117
PS3 130,870,084 (-12%) 635,424,313

which goes against the idea that 360 gamers are buying vastly more games than PS3 gamers.

Thats what I thought he meant. Thats global data, factoring in countries that PS3 is dominant in. That has no relation to vgchartz community.

My post refered to Vgchartz getting NA and UK traffic...yet there is a PS3 fan majority. The sales being on par with Halo 4 was referring to exclusives, perhaps I should have specified that.

Either way, countering one point doesnt excuse the rest of my post.

Well if we're talking about NA then the numbers would be:

USA Software by Platform

PlatformYearly (change)Total
X360 72,659,619 (-17%) 415,526,891
PS3 47,311,313 (-24%) 255,099,204

which is a ratio of 360:PS3 software of 1.536 which roughly coincides with the ratio between their NA install bases of 42.0/25.8 or 1.628 ratio.  So again, per gamer you are looking at a mininmal difference between the amount of software being bought by each which does not coincide with your idea that software shows 360 gamers are all playing games while PS3 gamers are now.

After that the rest of the post is just assumptions based on next to nothing, so I think defeating that point really does excuse the rest of the post.

The main point was that NA and UK are 360 dominated areas, yet the forums that cater to them are PS3 centric. This applies to most other gaming websites which are mostly frequented by NAmericans.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

And that again leads just as much into my conclusion as yours.  There are all kinds of conclusions that you can draw from that difference (that you've yet to prove btw) and you're just choosing the one that sounds best to you based off nothing but what you'd like to be true.

...

I'm one of them I always get banned here because I'm Xbox fan and ps3 or wii fans don't like it when I say truth on their forum lol

Ok, lets adopt the IMO hippie notion that "all 3 fan groups are represented equally". As if theres a 33.3333% of every faction on here or any gaming site. I dont know exact numbers, but to deny that Sony fans take up a majority on any given NA gaming site is just silly.

No. Their is way too many sony fans on this site for that to happen. new comers come in and then get raided by sony fans. That either turns them off or results in them getting banned.

This basically,

I've been coming to VGChartz since around 2005. I've been permabanned about 7 times over that period.

You can count on an ignorant Sony fan getting right up my nose and resulting in a ban. This account has been my cleanest strech so far...It's hard not to react to idiots. But slowly you learn :)

Most Xbox fans just don't bother and leave like the place like the Simpsons animated gif of grandpa coming then going...

It's sad that the moderators are unable to use "level 2" of understanding and interpeting forum disputes and what not, they don't bother with stealth trolls, are unable to detect sarcasm and generally alround unarticulated.

But I suppose on a large scale doing so might be too much work, or they just lack the intellectual insight to tell an idiot fanboy stealth troll clown, from someone who's just pissed off at the way the place is moderated.

Having said that, it's not bad as far as internet forums for gaming go...if you look at n4g it's like VGChartz gathered the worlds intellects and greatest minds of the world together.

Still, the above is basically the reason there's virtually no Xbox fans here.

This conversation has been done a few times over the years, each and every time the mods plead ignorance, the Sony fans think posts like mine are bonkers and so forth...End evaluation, people just don't use that thing humans were given called "insight". It's fairly obvious how it all works here, it's just a shame nothing is done about it to sort it out.

If I were mod, I'd clean shop in this place, but considering the similarity in the way all mods here operate in actions - yet are clearly different in personality and temperament - I'd say without a shadow of doubt they are taking orders from "above" and don't have the remit to use that insight I'm sure they really do have.

The sad thing is it keeps away people who are genuinely decent people and passionate in how they argue and genuinly take exception to stealth trolling. That's life, and that's VGChartz...forever doomed to be it's own worst enemy all in the name of advertising dollars...maybe it can't get any better :S

It's better than it was though a few years ago, that I will say with certainty, just not by much.

Proof of the above is the fact that members like "Leo-J" were allowed to run amock for years before being taken to task.

There's members here who are detrimental to the whole running of the place and are the seed of evil ;) eventually everyone falls into line, but the end result is a place devoid of passionate debate, under the giant umbrealla of political correctness and stuffy bland conversation.

There's a few bright lights, remember Seece? I remember when he signed up here, he was banned a few times straight away for his "neo thinking". But eventually he was accepted against all odds because he had the argument abilities to prove his point, if he wasn't quite as good at making his points, he'd have long been permabanned...BEFORE he recently left in disgust at this place.

I always knew Seece was going to be a good member here those years ago when he joined within about 3 posts...I was right. I think some people lack this innate ability to be good judges of character.

...god knows why? It's clear as daylight imo, those who are motivated primarily by bias and agenda are as transparent as it gets...yet to the mods..."they haven't broken a rule so they're ok".

They have broken a rule, they've broken the "spirit" of the rules!

...The worst rule someone can break.

One thing everyone is forgetting here.......used console sales. Maybe the reason there are more Sony fans on here is because many of them bought used PS3s and since they bought used it probably means they're poor so they don't' have that many games to buy.....so they spend their days in the forums!

I'd love to see how many used PS3s/360s Gamestop has sold.

Bullshit. I called Halo 4 a lazy sequel and Mr. Khan banned me lickety split.

Blame the idiot antagonising the other fanbases....like me.

Most traffic is from North America and UK. 360 turf.......

Youd think 360 gamers should be the majority but instead Sony fans are and for 360 you just have the few zealous fans such as myself.

360 gamers just play. The numbers say it for themselves like Halo 4, Minecraft, and COD for a few prime examples. PS3 game sales in 2012 were very low, hell they all are more or less on par with JUST Halo 4.

It all boils down to the bronze medal. 360 gamers just game. PS3 gamers need that reassurance that their tastes and console are amazing. So they flood the forums to create a false sense of majority opinion.

This isnt vgchartz Spain, Japan, or whatever country PS3 is dominant in. This site is for North American and UK gamers mostly. For 360 gamers to be a minority just tells me that they really see no reason to validate themselves...because they allready won.

I think you need to look at this: http://www.vgchartz.com/yearly/2012/Global/

Point?

probably this bit:

Global Software by Platform

PlatformYearly (change)Total
X360 137,316,716 (-11%) 731,253,117
PS3 130,870,084 (-12%) 635,424,313

which goes against the idea that 360 gamers are buying vastly more games than PS3 gamers.

Well, considering that one console allegedly "dominates" the other one since "years" sales-wise, and considering that "the other" console seriously lacks those really "awesome" exclusives i think these are quite surprising numbers, aren't they? But still, arguing about software-sales is useless as ms doesn't offer official software-sales-numbers.
