Forums - Sony Discussion - Did Kratos become Jesus/God?

In GOW I and II  all was set up so that Kratos prepared the path for the coming of Jesus, by killing all the false gods.

Very big stretch. Somebody is reading way too far into things.

Plus, kratos, a being of unrestrained rage, would not make a very good christian god.

He is not God, he just prepared the path for the coming of Jesus by killing all the Olympians, that ruled over mankind and treated them like sh!t.

I don't know about you guys but I really dislike Kratos as a character. I thought Gow3 was fun and all but I couldn't get behind the main character at all, too much of an asshole in my opinion.

Have you played all other GoWs including the PSP ones? A rather tragic character whose story only keeps getting more tragic to make up for the insanity that was GoW3 xD. Infact im sure Ascension will show even more of what drove him insane.

Oh and he was not only an ass hole due to what happend to his family, when he opend the box in God of War 1, he released the evil powers to the world, one of them being "hate/vengeance".

Well GOW3 was my first from the franchise, so perhaps this is the reason....but my dislike of Kratos gives me no motivation to play passed games or even be hyped for ascension what-so ever. Oh and the whole logic of kratos destroying false gods and presumably bringing about the rise of Christianity is wrong on so many levels.because when someone tries Killing others or dislike their beliefs in religion its kinda like being a terrorist,

so you could say Kratos is a terrorist am I right?

Yeah but the whole christianty stuff is just some dudes random thought based upon a few stuff in GoW1 and GoW2. So judging it based upon GoW3 might not make sense. Hell it might not even make sense when taking all GoWs in consideration. It is merely a "theory" if even that :)

Glad you found it interesting :D

In my personal canon the ending meant Athena became God. I mean her spirit blowing over the formless chaos and all. Maybe he is Samael, the archangel of death in the judaic myths, or even Adam, perhaps...

Oooh how about that. There's a chance Aphrodite survived right? Maybe she became Lilith.

And..

*cross of christ*

This was certainly intentional. Who isn't familiar with the sensationalist value of the crucifiction symbol with anyone else than christ.

The devil is in popular media, and replacing Christ with any other figure is his design. When we'll all die you'll all know what I mean.
