Forums - Sony Discussion - Ready at Dawn Making PS4 exclusive?

Now its old news that Ready at are developing a New IP for the next generation off consoles, their previous work as seen them focus mainly on portable versions of some of Sony's Ips such as God of War and Daxter. But when looking at their site today I noticed that the wording specifically states that the game they're working on is for only one next gen system

“Ready at Dawn is hiring. We’re looking for exceptional candidates to help develop an exciting new IP for a Next-Generation home console.”

Naturally I assume the console to be the PS4 because of their relationship with sony. Seeing as the job postings are from febuary we can assume that the bespoke title is well into a year of development and thus a natural fit for the Ps4's launch window late 2013/early 2014. Are you guys excited? Would you rather them moved development from the psp to the Vita as opposed to ps4?

This does make me question whether we'll see a next-gen God of War game. I always suspected that Santa Monica would give the franchise to these guys whilst they moved on to something else. I really can't imagine them sticking with  the franchise for another installment.

Well, they've shown they're a quality studio, and if they did take over GoW, it would be with a ton of support from Santa Monica. They are independent, though, so perhaps they're working on their own IP? I think they've earned that right.

As far as Santa Monica Studio goes, they work with pretty much everyone that develops an exclusive for Sony. In terms of skill and technical proficiency, they're up there with Naughty Dog. I would love to see them take a break from GoW and give us something new.

All that being said, the Vita's twin stick goodness is just begging for a GoW title--or maybe Heavenly Sword? That would be awesome.

wuld be nice if they were working on a PS4 game then we'd know we'd have a quality ip

RAtD are great so this should be good!

A heavenly sword game for Vita would be a great idea. I would be excited to hear that news

They seem like a quality studio but what else have they done except for the PSP GOW games. Sony is developing for three platforms right now so for the 1st party devs its probably all hands on deck to keep pumping out quality games.

Santa Monica are splitting in 2 Naughty Dog style I think, with a GoW team and a new IP team. Theyve had new IP rumours going around for years now with recruitment listings and the like, sure all will be revealed soon enough. Hope Sucker Punch go the same way too, but that might be hoping for too much.

I reckon Ready at Dawn have it in them to make a hit, they've got a very talented team coming from a range of game histories. But more importantly, rather then jump into AAA developement they took it slowly, learned their trade, build their team etc with PSP development. Now they're going all out on a AAA title, just hope they sided with Sony rather then Microsoft. Sony seems logical n all, but I've no doubt Microsoft will be hiring some non-first party teams for exclusives and they could easily have snapped up these guy if Sony didn't.

i remember a while back they said they would be working on a ps3 new IP, apperantly they changed it to a PS4 game, launch tittle maybe?

SMS is working on 2 games right now. GoW:A and Stig, director of GoW3, is working with a seperate team on a new IP.

4 ≈ One

One thing we can say > The PS4 will be supported with tons of new EXCLUSIVE AAA IPs with a big variety in genres.
Sony is so awesome for being the last supporter for REAL GAMERS

Next-generation god of war game could it be true..
