Forums - Gaming Discussion - Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Demo (Konami killed Metal Gear)

I just got the demo and played it.

Seems like a new Castlevania LoS... so boring and predictable gameplay.

There is nothing about Metal Gear in it... the graphics are not that good too (I think it is worst than MGS4).

IMO.

What did you guys think about this demo?

PS. No buy for me... I already have a meh experience with Castlevania LoS... I don't want another.

I haven't played the demo, but since I found out it's not a true Metal Gear it's been doomed to the $20 bin. Though a lot of games have been.

It's good that we get Ground Zeroes, no need for this bastardization of Metal Gear Solid.

I give it another try now and I'm surprised how the gameplay is similar to Castlevania game except the Katana Mode (well this move is useless in the demo).

It was made quite Clear that MGR is NOT a Metal Gear. Pretty much everyone involved with the project has stated as much. LoS is different as thats trying to be a Castlevania but comes off as Lord of the Rings, MGR was never trying to be MG. MGS: GZ is Metal Gear Koonami hasnt killed anything.

I'm sorry, but if you don't want it to be compared to Metal Gear don't put it in the title. Just shows how the developers want to cash in on the big name.

what?

1. It is a spin off. Just like Mario Party or Pokemon mystery dungeon There is no justification in comparing it to Metal Gear when its officially stated to be not Metal Gear?

2. Publisher wanting to take Big IP and expand/Milk  it to rake the money the money in.. ya know, like KINGDOM HEARTS!!! *gasp*

How you can make that clear if you named the game Metal Gear... weird.

Anyway I got my demo in the US version of Zone of the Enders... there is a 3GB install to play it.

One is called Metal Gear Solid Tactical Esionage The other Metal Gear Rising Lighting Bolt Action. The change in in title reflects the change in design. So its gonna be ok to comapare the Uncharted card game spin off to the real thing when it comes out because it shares the same tiltle?
