I want to buy Sly Cooper Thieves In Time from Amazon.com, but I live in Europe (Sweden).

Does the PS3 have regionlock or will I be able to play a US copy on my European hardware?

Region free consoles: PS3, PSV, PSP and DS.

Region Locked consoles: PS1, PS2, Gamecube, Xbox 360, Wii, Wii U 3DS.

Yes it will work, I play many american games on my European PS3.
The PS3 is region-free.

I believe it's because Sly cooper is delayed in Europe, until March.

You can import it, but I don't think the Digital version for the Vita will work though. If you do import please let us know.

Just wait for the Euro version.

And for everyone who thinks the PS3 isn't region locked, that's not true. The system allows for region locking, but the games do do it. There are a few that do. I would suggest double checking a game before import just in the unlikely case that it might be region locked.

The only game that is region locked is Persona 4 Arena. Every other game can be imported from Japan or Europe. In any case that means the PS3 is not region locked, if the publisher has to region lock the game.

The only content that is region locked, are downloadable content. I have and played a few imported items.

EDIT: I know the online component in some games are region locked. In some games, you can't play online with people over seas.
