God of War dev: 'there's still life in Kratos'

The developer behind God of War: Ascension has said that it believes series protagonist Kratos still has life left in him, despite starring in six core titles in eight years.

God of War debuted on PlayStation 2 back in 2005, and the franchise returns to our screens once again next week with the release of Ascension; a prequel which tells the story of Kratos and his attempts to battle free of the God of War, Ares.

However, despite his lengthy gaming career, Sony Santa Monica Studios doesn’t believe Kratos is ready to retire and mow the lawn just yet.

Speaking to CVG, lead designer Mark Simon commented: "I think there's still life in Kratos. He's a fun character to design games around and I love playing him."

“Yeah, I think the fantasy of Kratos is always compelling. “There’s not many characters that are like him,” concurred lead combat designer, Jason McDonald.

Our review of God of War: Ascension is now live for your viewing pleasure. The game itself is released on March 15, exclusively for PS3.

Hi. I'm Chris. I've been playing SimCity ever since the Super Nintendo version, and I've always been a huge fan of the franchise (SimCity 3000 is my favorite). Thus, when PC Gamer came to me and said, "Hey Chris! We want you to play the new SimCity with us in our Celebrity Sim City region," I wasted no time in responding with a resounding "Hell yeah!"

A lot of news again lol. Some of them don't need to be there though, no offense.  Like Simcity because its only on pc and this week in mobile news.  Good read though but both of them had no connection with PlayStation in general.

Simcity should not be a always online game.  They should have an offline mode and all the problems would not have happened. Simcity 4 > Simcity reboot by miles.  Maxis is a bunch of morons now.

The Last of Us Demo Inside God of War: Ascension Now Expected on May 31st

March 8, 2013 Written by Jason Dunning

Yesterday, inside one of our many God of War: Ascension posts, we let you know that The Last of Us demo included with every copy of the game was scheduled to arrive on Wednesday, April 17th.

Unfortunately, the timer for The Last of Us demo has been changed, and now says that we’ll have to wait until Friday, May 31st to finally get our hands on it. While this delay isn’t great, something to note is that the piece of paper advertising The Last of Us inside God of War: Ascension shows off the old May 7th date, so the demo was likely pushed back to reflect the new June 14th release day. The demo is technically on the GOW disc, but a countdown timer stops you playing it until Sony lets you.

What are your thoughts on waiting until May 31st for The Last of Us demo? Let us know in the comments below.
