Lol, now here is a statement I can fully support. That game was a shame for the entire series and the "RPG" genre (I use quotes since it resembles only a faint shade of a true RPG).

Planescape: Torment is a must, there's nothing like it after all this years, off course, if you don't mind old isometric CRPGs from Black Isle and Bioware's golden days (also Fallout 1/2 from same developer, another classics)

KOTOR 1/2, if you missed that.

Vampire: The Masquerade, yet another (underappreciated) classic, but needs bit of patching first.

Gothic 1/2 (even 3, but with mandatory patching).

I prefer the look of the original, the look chosen by the game's professional design team. Those new textures make it look like a completely different game. Yes, they're higher rez, but who stares intently at the ground anyway?

It's just gotta be Xenoblade!

lost odyssey is the perfect jrpg of this genre i firmly believe ( in my humble opinion ), it had the story,charactes,alot of content and great theme song.
been playing jrpgs for over 25 years and its the best genre as well for keeping u invested in a game more than any other .
