Yes for its time, it revolutionized gaming. It brought the best classics ever with mario 1+ 3 (2 is ok ), zelda, metroid, kid icarus!!! I loved them all!!! I thought their be alot more votes? Your right! I voted for mY GCN, it brought me Melee ( over 9000 hours) and other great titles.

SNES was supported by almost everyone at the time

SNES, it was the last time a Ninty home console had great 1st AND 3rd party games.

My first console was the Gamecube, and I think the Wii improved upon it greatly. Many of the games were improved.
Melee to Brawl I think was a huge improvement.
Super Mario Strikers to Charged was an awesome leap!
Twilight Princess (could technically be counted as GC) to Skyward Sword was a big improvement.
The Mario Party series had big moves forward as well.

There are other games I could possibly list, but I haven't played them yet, so I won't give my opinion.

I picked Gamecube for the following reasons.

* My first Nintendo console and first I bought and pre-ordered with my own money.
* My favourite console
* The Wind Waker - Best game ever made and best looking.
* SSBM
* Luigi's Mansion
* Rogue Squadron - Looked amazing for a launch title.
* Most comfortable and best controller ever made.

didn't even need to think about it... SNES because of super mario world and donkey kong country among some others. It's the daddy of 2D platformers

on a side note, i like seeing GC above the Wii, people are starting to see GC for what it was and Wii for what it was

You're all fools! The greatest Nintendo system is NES! It's probably the greatest gaming system ever! It saved to whole industry from collapsing! How is that now great?!
