Forums - Gaming Discussion - If the current big 3 console manufacturers were to bail, which 3 companies could replace them?

Hypothetically speaking, say Nintendo, Sony and MS all decided together that they had enough of selling consoles and they wanted to partner up to sell dounts.

In that kind of scenario what three gaming/non-gaming companies could replace them as console manufacturers? Personally I can definitely see Samsung getting in the gaming market which would interest me the most, as well as Apple (although I dislike them) who would prbably put the PS3's release price to shame. From within the gaming industry I could also see Activision perhaps having the resources to get in on the business, which I don't know how it would turn out.

So who do you think would have the resources/will to replace the big 3?

Exactly what I was going to post. Everything would be drastically different, but these guys would be the biggest players in the industry.

Bet with Turkish 1 month sig control: He wins if Playstation All Stars: BR sells more than 5m, I win if it doesn't. I won.

Bet with Conegamer for 1 month sig control: He wins if Orbis/Durango have 3GB of RAM or less, I win if both have more than 3GB.

Bet with man-bear-pig for 1 month avatar control: He wins if Vita sells less than 6.5M in 2013, I win if it sells more.

Bet with MARCUSDJACKSON for 1 month sig control: I win if there is an official price cut for Vita before E3 2013.

Apple, Samsung/Google and Valve

SEGA, NEC, ATARI.

Drops mic, walks off.

I would most definitely say Apple and most likely Samsung. As for the third, I would say Motorola probably or maybe Sega coming back.
