Nice second week for the Wii U in Japan, surprised about Monster Hunter although the console ones never sell as well as the handheld ones so no reason to panic (Monster Hunter Tri for the Wii is the only console MH game that have passed 1m sales). The 3DS is simple a beast in Japan no question about that and OMG at AC 0.0

Dismal PSV and poor PS3 numbers. Japan was Sonys safety blanket for the PSV, so these sales don't bode well for its future prospects...

Good 3DS numbers considering there's no significant software released this holiday.

Kinda disappointing Wii U numbers - I thought that because it only had 2 days of sales last week it's % drop this week would be smaller.

360 terrible as usual.



My prediction threads:

Wii U will sell under 40m units (made on 14th September 2012)

PS Vita will sell under 20m units (made on 30th September 2012)

Wii U will sell under 7m in 2013 - I was right

Halo 4 first 9 weeks sales prediction

PS4 to be down YOY in 2015

Here's how NSMBU is doing compared to Wii Sports. Note that Wii Sports wasn't bundled in Japan. (Neither is Mario)

And for another comparison, NSMBU is so far tracking above Super Mario World. (According to VGChartz data).

If a Sony Japan representative said that, then yes, it would be worth discussing and laughint at while pointing fingers.

Mate, the phrase became ubiquious, now it doesn't really matter if we are talking about Japan, the US or Timbuktu, if PSV are bad we can't judge them until their first christmas, and their first second christmas if things are still bad.

May not be his finest coment, but it isn't faming either, blame that incredibly stupid PR moment.

That PR comment was the right thing to say....Vita sales have picked up SIGNIFICANTLY this holiday in the UK. I don't think they'll fall back to pre-holiday sales either.

It does matter since this is a thread discussin Japan sales. What we should really be discussing is when will VIta get Monster Hunter, not what some UK PR person says.

Your post makes zero sense. Japan is the worst area for the Vita by a large margin and has been so for quite some time. How and when was it ever the safety blanket?
