Forums - Gaming Discussion - PS Store vs XBLA: Side by Side: XBLA wins by a landslide

I tend to agree with some of the others. Your list is pretty good but I would have preferred to see games listed by their exclusivity or the entire list of games available. As some have said XBLA has been around longer and has many more games. I would say that in the last few years some of the ps store games have generated more hype and attention than XBLA games (even though they havent necessarily done as well in sales.

It says right beside them exclusive.  On the top it says how many each has.

And def no.  XBLA has had more big name titles this year than PSN has had in the last 2.

wtf is your angle?  sales potential?  availiblility of good games?  value?  e-peen?

your OP has no direction at all.  you say you want to compare the two but you artifically cut both at 20 games each?  how is that suppose to provide any comparision let alone a fair one.  you artifically make them look equal.

Hope that is better for you as well

yes.

Not that I care about list wars (I got all 7th gen consoles), but your lists still seem incomplete.

Monkey Island 1+2 are missing from the PS3 list. Probably others too?
Trine 2 is missing from the 360 list.
Worms 2 Armageddon is also on PSN and iOS, but wouldn't even be an exclusive if it wasn't on PSN as it's also available for on PC and Mac (as extended version named Worms: Reloaded).
Rockstar games presents Table Tennis is not an exclusive (was ported to Wii) and not even an XBLA game.
N+ is also available for PSP (i.e. also on PSN?) and DS.
Winterbottom is a console exclusive, not an exclusive.

Thank you very much.  I'll need help because it is a lot of data to go through.  I'll fix all the problems as long as people help me out.

What is even the point of listing anything but exclusives? It just clutters up the list and makes it harder to compare games.

Metacritic is so silly for this, honestly. Why not just list all the games for each? Is there some reason an arbitrary "winner" has to be declared rather than just letting people look and decide which games they like best?

Well, I applaud you for making an actual list backed up by facts and numbers for this week's thread. If you don't mind me saying so, it's much better than some of the other threads you've made.

My input - some errors you've made:

- You missed Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix for both lists.
- You missed Resident Evil 4 HD for both lists.
- You missed Beyond Good & Evil HD for both lists.
- You missed Marvel Pinball for both lists.
- You missed Stacking for both lists.

- Missed Peggle for PSN.
- Missed Okami HD for PSN.
- Missed Super Stardust HD for PSN.
- Missed Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection for PSN.
- Missed Lumines Supernova for PSN.
- Missed Soldner X2 for PSN.
- Missed Closure for PSN.
- Missed Tetris for PSN.
- Missed Swords & Soldiers for PSN.

- Missed Skullgirls for PSN. (It's also on 360, but below 80 Metascore, and you've excluded PSN games which you've included on XBLA for this, so I assume the reverse applies in this case).
- Missed Quantum Conundrum for PSN (Same reason as above).

- Missed Pixeljunk Eden Encore for PSN (It's an expansion pack to Pixeljunk Eden, but you've included expansion packs for Pinball FX 2 on your 360 list so I assume it's okay).
- Missed Pixeljunk Monsters Encore for PSN (Same reason as above).

- Sine Mora is on PSN as well.
- Battlefield 1943 is on PSN as well.
- Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown is on PSN as well.
- Monkey Island is on PSN as well.
- Monkey Island 2 is on PSN as well.

- Rockstar Games Present Table Tennis is not an XBLA game.
- You counted Pinball FX 2: Marvel Pinball twice on your XBLA list (17 and 25, I'm not sure if they're two different games and you typed them wrong or something).

Anyway, wall of text crits you for over 9000 damage, but hopefully some of this is of some use to you. Obviously I've only done the PSN side of things because that's all I know, if there's any errors in the XBLA Arcade stuff (apart from the 2 I noticed) then someone else will have to take them.

Yes, but I would have preferred to have a list of only the exclusives listed - there are a number of psn exclusives I played and liked but that arent on that list as their metacritic score wasnt high enough (Infamous:festival of blood for one).

You may be right about more big name games but I personally havent heard much about any of those games other than Minecraft.

FEZ, MCXBLA, Trials Ev, Hybrid and Deadlight got quite a lot of traction. If you own a 360, you could've seen a lot of Summer of arcade stuff. They're advertised well.

Yay!!!
